I just want to say that my willingness to have a 2nd is based entirely each day on how much sleep my LO allows me to get.
He doesn't want a sibling.

Hahaha! I know 2 or 3 people who have said the same thing. It's rough!
I hope you start getting some decent sleep soon!

Lol!!! I say the same thing! I tell her, you must really want to be an only child! Sigh.

@Tanjowen: I felt that same way for a long long time! Sttn is a game changer

I told my dr the same thing...we will consider another when this one STTN consistently. Not yet happening at 21 months...

Yep, I was firm that I wasn't ready for another kid, but then LO started STTN at 18 or 19 months and that started to change my mind. Of course, as soon as I got pregnant, she started MOTN wake ups again!

@Tanjowen: this!! At 20m, STTN rarely happens. I went to Target this morning with giant bags under my eyes and this random woman behind me at customer service was being super chatty and asked when I was having LO2...I'm like. Never.

Glad I'm not alone on this! I feel tricked because he started STTN recently, and then the past few nights it's been multiple wake-ups.
My best friend is pregnant again and our babies are the same age. She wants me to have another with her so bad, and I'm like, "You are INSANE woman!" Haha

See I think it would be worse to get used to STTN again then have another one and start all over!

I'm with you.
We both tell DS that he must really want to be an only child. I couldn't imagine two who don't STTN as DS is 20 months and has a hard time doing this consistently.

I heard that babies getting up all night is actually an evolutionary tactic to ensure mommy gets no time to make another baby, so they get most of the resources! Seems accurate

I know the feeling...we're on the fence about whether to be one and done, and every difficult night makes the decision a bit easier.
@Mrs. Tiger: Not only time, but also a lot of women who nurse don't start ovulating again until they night wean -- definitely harder to produce a sibling if that's the case! I keep telling myself the silver lining is that the wakeups are keeping AF away, haha.

Haha! My son didnt want one either; he didnt sleep through the night til almost 1. I told my DH after that no babies for at least a year, I needed one year of sleep to make up for the one he robbed me of!

@Applesandbananas: @ALV91711: 20 months?!! I'm only at 11 months. You ladies deserve a medal. Or a hotel room to just sleep an entire weekend.
@Mrs. Tiger: This kid is making very sure of it. Smart cookie

@catomd00: That is my best friend's theory on it. She wants to just get the diapers/nursing/waking up at night done and over.

@Mrs. Tiger: hahaha that rings very true! When we started ttc, my son saved his absolute worst behavior for days when he could get a sibling if he left us to ourselves He slept just fine on other nights!

My oldest was and is a terrible sleeper. I distinctly remember having the thought "I can't get any LESS sleep, why not!" And it hasn't been too bad. The worst is when all three (yes I have three now!) are up all night. I distinctly remember a night in the last few months where I was up every hour attending to a different child (my husband was out of town).

@Tanjowen: I agree with your friend, that's what I'm doing! I haven't slept through the night in 4 years, lo's are 3 and 14 months!
