I love my dad, I really do. He and I are so much alike, it's kind of scary... but he is getting more and more forgetful the older he gets.

DH and I desperately need a vacation just the two of us (especially since we're starting TTC this month). We were going to use my parent's timeshare to go down to the beach and relax for a couple days. Well... my dad thought that my mom had reserved the week for them (even though we've talked to him about this about 3x in the past 2 weeks), and he decided he's going down there. Even after I've told him that it was meant for just me and DH, he said he needs a vacation too and thought it would be fun to hang out w/ us.

Granted, it's a two bedroom unit, so there's room for all of us... but c'mon! I was looking forward to some alone time w/ DH. Renting a hotel nearby is not an option because the closest hotels are $250+/night. Guess we'll just have a 3rd wheel this weekend?

What would you do?

ETA: My mom has tried to talk to him but he's pretty stubborn (and clueless?) and won't change his plans.
