Let me preface this by saying that DS has always been a very co-dependent sleeper. When he was tiny, he would ONLY sleep on our chests. Later, he needed to nurse to sleep and then for a long time I would have to hold him if I wanted him to nap. When he got older he would sleep by himself but needed to be nursed or walked or driven to fall asleep.
I'm not big on schedules. In fact, I've never followed one with him. My dream was always to have a kid who would just lay down and sleep when he was tired.
Today-- at 21.5 months-- that dream came true! I was lying down on the couch and he was playing but sleepy. He climbed up on the couch and curled up and slept. Zero intervention from me!
If it can happen for me, there's hope for you all
