I am very excited and have potential for 4 good follicles. I am considering acupuncture but have never done before. Any thoughts?

Welcome! I did acupuncture for a month or so and loved it! I had to stop b/c of the expense. It was relaxing and like a little therapy session. I think to get results, you need to do it for a sustained, regular amount of time. But I would think it would be good to do something positive!
I haven't heard of combining follistim and femara before. Mind sharing your protocol?

Oh, and I see you're new here--welcome! If you check out the infertility boards, you'll see a place where you can share your back story and a weekly check-in for giving & receiving support from some great women.
Good luck--let us know how it goes!

Good luck with your IUI! I did acupuncture for about 6 months, and it was the first time I ever started getting a temp shift in my chart, so I know it did something right. I found it very relaxing, and I know my RE recommends it on either the day before or day of an IUI. Your doctor can probably recommend an acupuncturist that specializes in fertility.
@Happygal: I did a femara + gonal-f protocol last cycle, but unfortunately I didn't get a good response from it. It's my RE's intermediate step between a straight oral and straight injection cycle, since she doesn't like to go straight to all injectables if it's not needed.

@sunny11123: Good luck! I did four IUI's with Femera only. Sounds like you have responded well to the meds. I also paired acupuncture with my IUI cycles and I found it to be helpful with my mental state.
Please pop by the IF boards, would love to hear more about your journey. http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/if-check-in-0227/page/4

I have the biggest smile sitting here at lunch. Thank you so much for your responses! I just joined and it's so nice to get some feedback...
I am 40 with a 16.9 TSH, DH has low counts, motility and morph issues. I tried 2.5 mg femara last summer with no response. DH went to a urologist, improved his counts some and is recently on Clomid 12.5mg. This month I did 5mg femara CD3-7, follistim 75iu CD 3-6 and 8. CD 10 was I given Bravelle for a boost that night. CD 12 had 4 follies: 2 almost a 16 and 2 almost an 18. CD 13 was my trigger and tomorrow I go in for IUI. (CD 15). My lining is 10.7 so I am cautiously optimistic.
Thank you for the encouragement and advise. Can't wait to check out all this site has to offer.

Lots of luck to you for your first IUI.
As for acupuncture, my acupuncture likes to see me at the beginning of my cycle then weekly to have everything ready in time for my IUI. I had a few IUIs now and if I were to get pregnant, my Acupunturist would normally not see me after my BFP.
It might be good to see them and see what they think. I love going to acupuncture. They haven't been successful on getting me pregnant but has definitely help with stress and general well being.

Good luck! And I can't recommend accupunture highly enough. I never got pregnant (very severe morphology issues), but it did worlds of help for both me and DH with relaxation. And did wonders for my anxiety and depression.
