I get those weekly e-mails from Babycenter that tell you what your kid is up to each week in their growth and development. Last week's e-mail said "My Toddler This Week" and this week's says "My Pre-schooler This Week." Pre-School? No, she's still a toddler!
What age does a child become a pre-schooler?

3, I suppose? I went to pre-school when I was 3 and started kindergarten when I was 4.

Preschool starts as young as two, generally... But they are also a toddler until 3 (I think.)

I would say 4, but that's probably because I'm in denial of a 3 year old being a preschooler

Although, I never went to preschool, just straight to Kindergarten. Does that mean I was a toddler until Kindergarten?

I say 2-3. DS was in preschool at 3.
My emails for DS say "my big kid this week"

Hmmm 3 feels too old to be a toddler. How about:
1 - 2 1/2 = toddler
2 1/2 - 4 = preschooler
4 - 5 = pre-k
5+ = kindergartener

I was shocked when we started getting the "preschooler" emails too!! I think 3 yo is more of a preschooler "turning point" than 2 yo, but that's just me (even though my eldest did go to preschool between 2-3 yo).
We're also at the "big kid" emails with our eldest... it's crazy, but I do love the 5-6 yo stage the most so far.
