Name Help - Please!

We were so close to being settled on a name! But then we both just realized it may not be it. We were settled on Theodore (nn Teddy, or possibly Theo). I'm due in 2 weeks and a bit stressed that we aren't settled on a name yet! So, I thought I would solicit some HB feedback.

DD's name is Lyla and our last name is a shorter, but somewhat "harsh" last name that is hard to pair first names with (sorry so vague).

Below are some names we are considering. What do you think, and any other options we should add?

My LO is Leo, so I am biased. He is actually Leo Henry! I love Theodore (Theo or Teddy) as well. Luca is also one of my faves...you have great taste!

ETA for me personally, I didn't want 2 L names, so I would do Theodore--I think Lyla and Teddy sounds super cute!

I love Luca and Leo! I tend to prefer less common names and I know lots of babies named Henry, Theodore/Teddy, and William/Liam.

@hilsy85: haha thanks! Seems we have similar taste! I don't know how I feel yet about two L names, though I've thought about it a bit. We are considering naming him Henry Theodore and still calling him Teddy, because I agree Lyla and Teddy is just so cute together. Oh, also, is your Leo just Leo? I don't really love any of the longer versions of the name but have wondered if it's too short?

@CakeLady: I think that's why I'm struggling so much! I really don't want to pick "the popular" names, but at the same time, Lyla was down in the 100's on popularity when we named her 2 years ago, and now I know 3! So, it seems like I can't really win either way. We actually don't know any Theodore's, but I see it climbing so I'm sure we will soon.

@Mrs. Lovejoy: I totally understand! We thought we picked a fairly uncommon name for DS and I think it might end up being pretty popular. You should just pick the name that you love - if Theodore has been on your list for a long time and you still love it, then just do it!

I think Liam as a nickname for William is great! But go with your gut.

Henry is one of my absolute favorite names that DH vetoed. Terribly upset about it! I love seeing little baby Henry's!

I voted Leo because that is what I have (short for Leonardo after my grandfather). Henry then William are my next two favorites. I'm not a big fan of Luca - can feel girly to me for some reason and Theo (still think of the annoying guy from Louisiana on Road Rules).
Eta - Teddy is cute as a child but I wouldn't like it as he got older.

Henry. I like Leo and Luca, but your daughter has an L name so not of fan of those together (though I know some people like that).

I LOVE Theodore! It was dh's uncle's name, so it's on my radar of names to use. I love the nn Teddy, but not Ted, so that's my only hesitation about using it for if we ever have a boy

I LOVE Luca!!! I actually really, really love "Theo", too. Henry is beautiful, just a bit popular right now. Leo is really cute. William is a bit traditional, but I LOVE Liam. You have some REALLY solid names here!!!

Thank you guys! And it's actually refreshing to see a variety of responses because it makes me feel like we can't go wrong in any direction. I think we'll know for sure when he comes, but this takes some pressure off.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those names - including Teddy! - but I really love Henry. One of my best friends is married to a Teddy and I've never thought it was an odd name for an adult.

I also love Liam, but I'm not sure I love it with Lyla.

@Mrs. Lovejoy: Theo, William, and Henry were on our list as well! Theo is my FAVE and if it helps mesh with your last name - people have described it as a softer sound.

I'm not a fan of Liam personally. I like the idea of Henry Theodore- Henry and Teddy are both cute with Lyla too.

I love them all! I voted Theodore, but the choice was tough! I prefer using the full name William to Liam.

You know my bias However, Leo and Luca were high on my list too. Ultimately, we settled on the flexibility of Theodore-- so many options for finding a nn that fits your little dude!

@Mrs. Jacks: Ahh, I know! and I love Theo! We've decided we're going to wait until birth and see what fits him. Then we won't stress out so much in the next two(ish) weeks.
