Alright my naming gurus of HB, help a girl out with some names please! We are nearly 26 weeks along with baby number three and are struggling to come up with names. Once again, we are TG, so we need to be prepared with both a girl and a boy name, preferably more than one of each just in case, but we seem to be hitting nothing but brick walls this time.
We already have two girls who have very normal, fairly popular names, which we're fine with (they have the same names as the two most famous Bronte sisters if anyone is into English lit - not intentionally, just a random coincidence). We like normal, easy to spell, timeless (not trendy) names, although I don't mind maybe pushing the envelope a little bit....and popularity doesn't matter to us in the slightest.
If this baby is a girl, we both like the name Isabelle (not -a, but -e) but strongly dislike the nicknames Izzy and Belle. I feel this is a name that people will automatically want to shorten, which I don't want, but I'm wondering if Isabelle is too much of a mouthful with our three syllable last name...
The only other name on our girl list is Claire, which I'm on the fence about (for whatever reason, I don't love one syllable proper first names for girls but don't mind if the nickname is one syllable).
For boys, we're leaning towards Matthew, but again, I don't particularly love Matt and would want him called Matthew all the time. Any chance at all of having people actually call him Matthew, not Matt???
Other names that I like, but have been vetoed by DH, are:
Molly (possibly too similar to DD1's name)
Matilda (already have one in the family but DH hates it anyway)
Cora (can't get him on board, no idea why)
Lucas (DH just doesn't like it)
Henry (DH wants to call him Harry if we name him this - umm, no)
Lachlan (DH says we're not cool enough for this name, lol!)
Finley (he just doesn't like it)
Open to suggestions here! Thanks all
