Have you and your SO ever picked out a name before you became pregnant and actually stuck with it?
My SO have a habit of picking names before conceiving. It saves arguing in the long run. This time around we have two names picked already and are not even TTC. Please tell me we aren't the only ones to do this! lol

We picked out a boy's name while we were TTC, but long before we were pregnant. We're already telling people the name. I doubt we will change our minds because whenever we say it or think about it the name just *is* our son's future name.
Prior to TTC my husband still held out for a junior.

We have but then have never ended up using them, which is so funny to me. But they never seemed right once I was pregnant with a specific child.

We picked out boy and girl names before my 1st pregnancy. Our son's 1st name stayed the same, but we ended up going with a different middle name. Our daughter (currently in utero) is getting our original girl name from way back when. So yes-- we've generally stuck with the names we picked before the pregnancy-- this one is getting a name we picked over 5 years ago!

We definitely had names picked out even before ttc. DS has a family name so that wasn't going to change. We have a girls name picked out that won't change, as it's the only one both of us like. We are already troubleshooting more boys names, but this one is hard so I don't think we would settle until we were pregnant again.

@littleblessings: Yep DD was always going to be Giuliana, the spelling came when I was pregnant and really fell in love with the Italian way as our last name.is super Italian

The ones we picked out very early (while dating) suddenly jumped to the top 10, so we dropped them. But both R and L's names were ones we picked before I was pregnant. Not their full names though.

I had my girl name picked out before DH was in my life 
It took some convincing but he eventually came around to it. DD2 was another name we threw around while pregnant with DD1 and I brought it back up and it was more of a last minute decision because again DH wasn't sold on it. I gave him the power to name and he eventually choose it!

Well, long before we got pregnant with LO we had a definite boy name picked out which we would have still used had we had a boy. We did have a girl name too, but changed our minds a couple of times whilst I was pregnant.

Our oldest's name we picked out while we were dating, our youngest we picked out while I was pregnant with our oldest. We have also already picked out our hypothetical third child's name.

We discuss names before we were TTC with LO. Then once I got pregnant, we didn't discuss at all till we knew the gender. We have had a couple discussions again, and will be TTC in a couple months. I imagine again we won't discuss names once pregnant till we know the gender.

No, we've basically waited until right before I gave birth both times, ha. Good for you if you know though! It's hard to agree sometimes. I'm also superstitious I guess too, wanted to make sure all was ok before naming.

@LuLu Mom: Ha - I did too. I told him the name on our honeymoon when we saw a street sign in Venice with the name. He loved it and here we are with our almost 3 yr old girl

We discussed names for fun on our honeymoon! We never liked the same boy names - then AND during pregnancy. Fortunately we found out we were having a girl and used one of our top girl names from the honeymoon conversation.

We've had 5 full girls names and 3 boy first names picked out for about 5 years now, ever since we got married. We sometimes reevaluate the "later" ones in the list, or middle names, but that's it.

My husband had no interest in discussing names until we were actually pregnant and knew the gender! 
But I love names so I would have been happy to discuss it sooner.

Yep! DH always had 2 girl names before we were even 100% TTC. We liked them both, and picked one to be our DD's name long before she was conceived!

I've always had a running list of my own choices, from before we even started dating. We bounced some names around before TTC but my husband was non-committal. Once we found out we were pregnant, we pretty much agreed on a girls name right away--and will name our daughter that if she happens to be a girl! Boys names are a little more of a struggle, but we have a definite front runner. We find out the sex next week so if it happens to be a boy we'll probably finalize a more concrete name.

We talked a lot about it and had two names picked out with stipulations. Then I got pregnant and hated all the names we picked except one of the middle names.
The girl name we ended up choosing didn't go with the middle name we had picked from before so we came up with something else.
I love LO's name.

@littleblessings: We did! We had chosen August Duncan before I got pregnant for a boy. But, when we found out we were having a boy we changed our tune. Funny how that works because I still love the name in theory!

We have one boy's name (first only) and one girl's name (first for sure and middle name is a probably) picked out. While I can't say for sure they will end up with our LOs, I would be surprised if they didn't! We are TTC, so whenever we talk about life with a LO, we plug in one of the two names when talking about our future child. We say things like, "When Claire gets here..." or "I'd love to take Wes (Weston) to...". We don't have a sticky baby yet though so we'll see!

We did! Oddly, though, once I was actually pregnant we didn't like any of the names we had the originaly agreed on. That's happened both times I've been pregnant. We don't have a sticky baby yet, so I'm not sure what we will actually name a child when we are lucky enough to have one.

We had baby girl's name since we were TTC. It was the first name we agreed on. It wasn't a popular name so it was stayed on our list. I wasn't sure what we would end up with since we had IF but I'm glad it stuck and stayed after our 3 year journey to meet her.

I chose DD's name over a decade ago. It's a family name (plus my middle name) and I love it. As it happens, when teenaged me chose it, it was in the 500-700 range for popularity and when she was born it was top hundred...

We had our boy's name picked out well before we were pregnant (it's a family name) and we used it for our ds. We had a girls name picked out as well, but I got a student with that exact first and middle name this year so now we are back at the drawing board if we have a girl, and we no longer have a boys name. It actually feels weird to be so uncertain about names with this pregnancy!

We talked about names before we started TTC, and had narrowed in on some favorites. Since I've been pregnant, I made us sort of start from scratch, combing through the baby books, but our front runners are still the same.

Yes, M told me what he would like our daughter to be named 2 years before she was born. We discussed other names but stuck to the original.

@littleblessings: We've been talking baby names for a couple years haha. We're TTC now and have our names picked out and still talk about random names. I think lots of people do this, you're not alone.
