My FIL bought plane tickets for us last night and put down my nickname Abby instead of my full name Abigail. Do wet need to change that to my full name or can we get by with my nickname?

It has to match the name on your government issued ID which I assume is Abigail.

Agreed, has to match government ID. If he booked within the last 24 hours, most airlines will allow you to cancel & rebook with no extra cost. Don't wait too long to change it - they may charge.

Ok thanks! That's what I thought. I'll let him know. I feel bad because he called and asked for DD's spelling, but then he got mine wrong, lol. My DH had even sent our Driver's licences. Oh well.

Definitely change it. When my DH and I were dating he put my nickname on the plane ticket and they gave us a major hard time. They weren't going to let me fly. I think I had to go online at the airport and change the name and reissue the ticket. If we were running late we wouldn't have made it.

Yeah just call them, if its within 24 hours you should be okay to cancel and rebuy with correct info.
