Our nanny started with us at the beginning of November, and she is really awesome! We're going to give her an end of the year bonus of a week salary (even though it's totally budget busting). Do you think I should give it to her very close to Christmas or would it be better to give it a little early so that she can use the money for the holidays if she wants? Also, I'm going to get her a small separate gift, since I know technically the bonus isn't a gift. She's a former colorist at a salon. I'm deciding between a Sephora gift card or a pack of Bombas socks. Which one do you think would be better? Thanks!

I don't really do make up but i love my bombas. It's like walking in a cloud. I got it as a gift and would love to be gifted more as i have a really hard time spending that much on socks on my own!

I have really particular feelings about socks so I would never use a pair somebody else bought me.

I'd definitely go for the Sephora gift card, especially if you know she shops there. I had never heard of bombas socks, but just looked them up and $85 for a six pack of ankle socks seems crazy to me!

@Fawn: They are crazy expensive. I've only gotten them as gifts from my mom, who is obsessed with them. But, like @PurplePumps: said, they are awesome. She seems to like cozy clothes, so I thought she might like them.

I'd gift her the bonus as early in December as you can. And then have the kids give her the sephora gift card closer to Christmas.

I would do the bonus a little earlier in the month and personally I like the idea of the socks (I LOVE being gifted socks haha) but maybe that's just me.

Socks! Bombas are really nice but I hate spending money on them and love having them gifted instead.

Gifts are meant to be luxury items the recipient wouldn’t splurge for on her own!

@ilovepie: @Chuckles: @wrkbrk: Bombas fans! I need sizing help! I'm interested in ordering myself a pair (or requesting that DH get me some for Christmas), but am so torn on the sizing. I'm a firm 7.5 shoe; when no half sizes are available I generally prefer the fit of an 8 (like in my othe comfy footwear favorite, my LL Bean wicked good moccasins) unless something runs big. Would you suggest sizing up to the medium socks? 8-10 just sounds like it has the potential to be saggy.

@Chuckles: Good question. I have mediums and have a size 8 foot and nothing has ever sagged
But your feet are a bit smaller...also I never wear mine with shoes. Just at home so maybe a slightly tighter fit you to wear them inside shoes is better??

@PinkElephant: @wrkbrk: Hmm... I have a size 6/6.5 foot. I wear the smalls, and they are definitely snug. Not in a bad way, just that they fit me really well. I think it's possible that the small would be a little too tight for you.

@wrkbrk: @Chuckles: Thanks - based on this I think the Ms will be better. I mainly want them for hibernating at home this winter, although I’m doing outdoor workouts so might wear them with trail runners...which I buy a half size too big to accommodate extra winter sock bulk. But nothing is worse than tight socks, especially if I’m paying $$ for them to be comfy 🤪
