Oh my gosh, it took over 1 hour to get our LO to nap today. He took a 30 minute nap this morning but fought going down for his next nap even though he was exhausted. I finally put him in his car seat and drive him around for 30 minutes. He fell asleep right away. I'm so exhausted. End of rant.
LO is almost 6 months. Any advice on ways to get LO down for nap without me driving around?

Interested in this as well. LO fights sleep sometimes and although I've never taken her for a drive, I'd like some tips on how to get her down when she's fighting it to no end!

@Bao: this was the worst I've ever seen. Normally he goes down after a bottle but that did not work today.

Going for a walk in the stroller is my fool proof method.
Sometimes I put LO down in his crib, lay on our bed next to him and let him fuss for a while in his cot, then I pick him up and start the putting to sleep process again. It usually works, it's like the time in the cot reminds him that sleepy time is actually not so bad, and it gives both of us a breather before trying again!

Our go-to at an early age was going for a walk with him in the wrap-sling. He'd always fall asleep.
Try and think of what makes your baby calm down.
I noticed mine likes to look out the window, so now at nap time, I put him into his snuggabunny chair, facing the sliding doors to look out the window, with a nice soft blanket and I leave him there and he falls asleep. In the beginning of this method, it would only get him relaxed and drowsy, and then I'd nurse him and he'd be out easily.
It's tough when they are nap-fighters. Been there, done that. I think it might also just be something they go through before they (and you) get the hang of the sleep routines.

Have you tried an exercise bouncy ball? it used to work wonders for my son. I just tried it on my daughter
tonite. worked like a charm!!! she was
screaming bloody murder before bed and I tried everything. finally decided I give the ole ball a try an it worked! I held her upright and just sat on the ball and bounced. maybe try that? I
bought my ball at target for $15 a few yrs ago. worth every penny!!!
