This spring we want to paint our apartment but I am having a really hard time coming up with ideas. The majority of the living area has a ledge along the wall since we are half underground so I wanted to paint the top one color and the bottom another and leave the ledge white. Any suggestions for me?

I'm a fan of shades of same color, like light gray and dark gray. Or anything with gray and bright color like blue, green, yellow... Will you be painting one room or whole apt?

I love the color gray! We plan on painting a few rooms in our new home gray. I think it is really in right now.

@runnerd: well the living room, dining room and kitchen all flow together so we will probably do the three areas.

Shameless thread bump with an added picture because I have more questions! We are considering going blue and grey. I don't want anything too primary blue, and dh doesn't want anything too dark. And a few question since dh and I have different ideas:
-what blue do you like?
-what kind of grey would you do? (pure or with a hint of another color)
-would you put the blue on the top or bottom?
-what color would you do the solid wall behind the couch?
