I went to the doctor today because I was worried I might have a yeast infection or a uti. She did a pregnancy test and it came back negative.
I tested positive at home on Saturday and Sunday. The test at the doctor was this evening, I drank about 4 liters of water today, and peed before I went to the doctor.
Still, I'm panicked!!!!
Has this happened to anyone else?

This happened to a close friend of mine. She took another HPT that night and it was positive. The baby is 5 now.

Since you are still really early I'm guessing it was just too diluted because it was the end of the day and you had drank so much water. What did your doctor say? Did you ask them to do a blood test to confirm? A blood test can't give a false result.

My guess would be that your urine wasn't concentrated enough & maybe they weren't using a very sensitive test. Do you have anymore on hand? I'd take one first thing in the morning & see what it says.

Everyone's right, it was probably diluted. The doctor said the home tests are often much better than theirs. I feel like as soon as she said it was negative, my boobs stopped hurting. Is that even possible?
I have one test at home, I'm going to take it in the morning.

My test was negative at my doctor's office, but positive at the clinic I work at. Who knows...

Yeah, and especially if you've had relatively faint bfp at home too. I'm sure it will be positive tommorow!

That happened to me, I now have a 15 month old. The test came out negative and the nurse said sometimes they are defective because they are so cheap, lol. She immediately tried another test (since she was using my pee in a cup) and that one immediately came back positive. For a second I felt like I had made the whole thing up, then got worried something happened. I'm sure your HPT and blood test will both say positive tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for weighing in!!! I just felt so sick about it. Took my test this morning and it was much darker than Saturday and came up instantly!!

@sslm: Phew! So relieved your test came up positive this morning! I agree with the others that your urine was probably too diluted at the doctor's. The blood test today should give you a nice positive!

This is EXACTLY what happened to me. I had 3 positive HPT tests, went to my doctor, did a urine test, and it came out negative. I had drank a TON of water and it was super diluted. When she told me I freaked out, ran home and did another HPT which came out positive yet again. I went back for a blood test and everything was fine Good luck at your test this afternoon, I'm sure it's going to be fine!

GUYS. I have doubling HCG!!!!! The doctor just called, said everything looks good, HCG is doubling and progesterone levels are good. I am so relieved. Hope the good news keeps coming and this is our sticky baby
