Hi ladies, this is my first post here. Here's a little back ground on my DH and I. DH and I have been married since last November after 5 years of dating. We're both 30. He has a good high paying job and mine is decent. We've been talking about having a child for a while now. In January we decided to stop using protection and let mother nature run is course.
AF is a couple of days late. I bought some pregnancy tests tonight. I plan on taking a test on Saturday morning when DH and I can have some time to ourselves. I want to be a mom, but the thought of being pregnant scares me. When I do take this test and if it reads positive, our lives will change forever. I guess its just the fear of the unknown right now. Has anyone felt like this before?

I felt like that before becoming pregnant also, which is why we decided to just NTNT, instead of full on TTC. I just left it as "whatever is meant to happen will happen" and it did! Pregnancy has been scary, and at 29 weeks, I'm still scared of what parenthood will be like, but I do know that I love this little baby more than anything in this world, and I haven't even seen her yet. It's all worth it, and I think it's totally normal to fear the unknown.

Oh yes! It's terrifying to think that you're going to responsible for a little person for the rest of your lives (or 18 years depending on how you think about it)! I knew I wanted to be a mom, I wanted a baby so so badly, but I still got nervous all the time about it.
It helped me to realize that I have an awesome support system around me and an amazing husband who I knew would be an awesome daddy.

It's completely natural! DH and I were shocked, scared and really stressed the first few days after we found out I was pregnant (unplanned pregnancy).
We quickly adjusted and got super excited. Can't imagine life without our LO.. she's the best thing that ever happened to us.

Totally! I wanted a positive but at the same time was super nervous about it. Now we are just excited. Every time I feel that baby kick, it gets more exciting.

totally! it's like, i'm scared that the test will show positive, because that means i'll be responsible for another being. and i'm scared the test will be negative and i have to start all over again.

It's natural to feel afraid of the unknown! As DH said to me when I was too scared to POAS - 'What's the worst that could happen? We have a baby, which would be awesome, or we get to keep trying, which is also awesome.'

It's very normal! I think pregnancy is 9 months (10!) so that you have time to get used to the idea!! LOL!

Well...I took the test yesterday and we're pregnant!!!!! I'm so excited, happy and scared all at the same time. Lots to think about and prepare for now.

yayy congratulations! FWIW, I was terrified the day I got a positive. I kept thinking, "What did we do?!" It felt so different planning for a hypothetical baby than it is to realize you're really, truly having one! It took me a little bit to get used to the idea, but now I'm thrilled! (still nervous about the money but hey, who isn't? lol)

I felt like that even after trying from May to August and getting the BFP in September. I've heard it from couples trying for over a year. Hey, it's a scary thing. But what awesome, wonderful thing isn't also a little scary?
