What do you have and why do you like it?
Trying to decide what to get during maternity leave.

I have amazon prime- I like it- I use it a couple times a week- but I am disappointed it doesn't have a few series I wanted to watch. Perhaps if there is something in particular you want to watch- check each to make sure they have it!

We have both (well, a friend lets is use his Netflix acct), but we only use Amazon. Everything we want to watch is either on there or Hulu+, which is our favorite. However, we don't watch a ton of movies, so someone that does probably would have a different answer.
PS: Amazon Prime is worth if just for shipping. I was ordering so much stuff in those early days.

We have both. I like Prime better because it's easier to search and I am less disappointed with the selections.

I have both, but to me they aren't comparable.
I would pick prime over netflix as a whole, because I LOVE the benefits of prime shipping, and the kindle stuff too.
However, as far as just streaming video goes, Netflix has a way better selection. Most of Amazon's (I find) are at a cost.
The breakdown financially is slightly pricier per year for Netflix (except you pay monthly, not yearly) but if you just want it to watch things during maternity leave, then I'd suggest doing Netflix. If you are looking for the most value-add to your life, I personally think I get more value from Prime.

I posted this exact question recently. I looked into it and was disappointed by the selection on Prime to be honest! You can search to see what they offer..and decide based on that

I have both. Obviously you get more perks with prime like the free shipping. I think their selections are similar but amazon seems to have less. It does depend on what you want to watch and what device you are planning to use. We use Netflix more because amazon doesn't have an app for the Apple TV.

We have prime already for the other features of prime, so I just use that instead of paying for other ones. I think their selection is quickly growing.

Um, we got cable just so I'd have something to watch while on maternity leave. Lo is 8 weeks old and I've only used the tv for noise. So I think whichever one you choose, you'll be fine.

We have both & watch netflix more often but like the other prime benefits. So I like both of them but for different reasons.

@debbiei8: I believe you can start the show on a mobile device and then airplay it on your tv.

@MrsH: ya that's true, but then you have to make sure the device doesn't fall asleep and you won't be able to stream and use the device. We really have prime for the other benefits but we do occasionally watch movies through it though!
