I'm not an expert photographer. I'm not even close. We have a digital that we bought before our honeymoon three years ago. We pretty much never use it, using our iPhones instead as pretty much the go-to camera(s). (We both recently got the iPhone 5.) I said months ago that I wanted to look into a new, decent camera before the baby arrives (due mid-Febrary), so that we could get better-than-iPhone photos. My DH is of the mindset that if the camera isn't on our phones, we won't have it with us all the time anyway, and being able to take pics easily (and share them, of course) is more important than an awesome camera.

So, what do you think? Now that there are people (parents) looking to buy us nice Chanukah presents, should I push on the camera? Will I use it, or will it sit like the digital because my iPhone is pretty much always within arm's reach? Ultimately, does it matter how high quality the photos are, or is quantity, in this case, more important? Insights and opinions?
