That's crazy. Yes. We use credit because we get the 2% cash back but we don't mind just using debit.

We are in California. That article sys we are exempt. I do use my disney card a lot. Then I use my points for our disney passes. But if there were extra charges I would just use my debit card

I'll be using my debit at stores that do this.
ETA: Looks like this wont be happening in MA. YAY!

A lot of small businesses in my area already have a minimum of $10 or $20 to use a credit card so I usually dont use a credit card for small places

My state is exempt, but this would definitely change my behavior.

I live in MA, which is exempt, but I do a lot of shopping in NH because it's tax free (and only a few minutes away). We use our credit card for pretty much every single purchase. I love doing it that way because I always make sure there's plenty for the upcoming bills and I can immediately see how much we're spending on other stuff. It would be way too chaotic to me for 2 people to be using debit cards or taking out cash constantly.
So if I shop somewhere and see there's a charge, I'm probably not going to be giving them my business any more. There's always somewhere else to buy what you're looking for.
Luckily the article said it's likely to be mostly small businesses, and we end up spending at bigger chains more often like Target, Panera, grocery stores, etc.
