Never heard of it, sounds interesting! I'm hoping to eventually have an herb garden, but until then I want to try it!

@Boogs: Why didn't I know that??? I use mint and basil fairly frequently, but I can never use a whole package.

@Andrea: I'm actually bad about doing that a lot, too.

This sounds cool! Def want to try this. Sounds yummy and practical.

@Boogs: I saw those tubes and thought they looked really interesting. They have to last longer than the herb itself, right?

By the way, something I learned about Basil recently - don't refrigerate it or it will go brown!

As for the tubes of Basil or herbs, they still go bad. Although, I don't know how long they last compared to fresh.

I do like getting the Basil plants that you buy at the grocery store. It's already planted and ready to go. I place the plant in a tall glass and add about an inch of water and just keep adding water. Yeah, this is much easier than those packets of seeds. I'm not a gardner so I suck at keeping plants alive.

Next time, I buy fresh herbs, I plan on freezing them.

@Boogs: @mediagirl: They last a couple of months at least. If you cook even just a moderate amount, you'll definitely use one up before it goes bad. Especially the parsley, basil, and other basic herbs.

I love the paste tubes, and what you don't use you can freeze. I do it all the time. My favorite one is the Thai seasoning one, I use it in my curry.

I will be looking for basil spray, yum! Now I want pesto...
