You can wear maternity jeans much earlier than you may think and you'll still need them for awhile after.

I think that early, I would buy a not super expensive pair in a size larger than you usually wear. Mat jeans are so comfortable, but it would be hard to hide the panel early on unless you usually wear really long tops. But now is also not the time to buy new designer jeans, probably.

I was mostly wearing my regular jeans zipped but unbuttoned, but with a belt over the button, from around 8 weeks, just from bloat. I transitioned to mat jeans somewhere around 10-12 weeks, but I could have gotten away with my regular ones up through 12-14, just with a belt or bellyband holding them in place.

I would buy maternity jeans. I bought them at 7 weeks with DS and they fit fine. I wore the same size for my entire pregnancy. Motherhood has a lot of jeans with a navy belly panel. It's not very noticeable if your shirt rides up or something.

you could always wear them later, if you can i would suggest buying the full panel one so they can last throughout your whole pregnancy

I voted maternity jeans because I was in them at 8 weeks whether I wanted them or not! The kind with the full spandex belly panel are very easily disguisable as normal jeans if you just wear a top that is a bit longer and/or baggier. I didn't tell anyone until 11 weeks at work, and I was wearing maternity jeans for a while!

I say regular with stretch. I can wear ALL my pants with some stretch right now (11w) and they fit great. Then you can extend the button (rubber band trick) and then belly bands, and then at THAT point, go to maternity. But I'd only buy a cheap pair or two! In a few months for SURE you'll be out of them.

I was in maternity jeans super early - I think 11-ish weeks? I'd go with a well cut maternity jean. I am in love with the ones I got from Gap, and I have a couple pairs I really like from Motherhood too. You can shop around and find what fits you best! Some people like under-belly, some like full panel.

I will go ahead and say I HATE the ones from Old Navy... I'm yanking on them constantly!

Maternity! I never bought any until 11 weeks and never looked back! I would invest in a good comfortable pair. I'm 9 month pp and I still only fit my maternity jeans (yes, it's sad but true).

I bought maternity jeans pretty early, around 11 weeks, so on the one hand I'd say go for it, because you can wear them pretty early. On the other hand, if your tops aren't long enough, the panel can become exposed. Any chance you can get along with the stuff you have for 6 weeks or so and then start to wear the maternity pants (maybe when you are bit more comfortable letting people know your preggo?)

I voted maternity, cause in very few weeks you'll be out of the regular ones. Just wear long shirts to hide the top part of them.

I bought, and started wearing, maternity jeans at about 8 weeks, and seriously, most comfortable things ever!
Even if the panel is too big for you now, it folds down, and can just look like you're wearing a tank top under your shirt. I'd vote maternity jeans.

I am in the minority but I vote regular jeans, maybe in a bigger size. I didn't start wearing til mat jeans til 27 weeks...they made me feel frumpy!!

I vote maternity! I wore them early on, especially the demi panel kind. A lot of mine are from Old Navy... I have a lot of skinny dark denim from ON that looks just like my skinny dark non maternity denim! Same with colored denim.
