Anyone having any new year meals to bring you luck in the new year?
I'll be making pork and sauerkraut. I believe it's a Pennsylvania Dutch tradition. I'm not PA Dutch but ever since someone told me about this tradition about 6 years ago, I always make it. I do love pickled foods so I crave the sauerkraut.

Not so much for the American new year but there are tons for Chinese new year.
Maybe I should start for American new year too! Doesn't Hurt to double up on luck!

@bluestriped bee: We'll be having pork and sauerkraut as well. It's DH's family tradition (from PA), but I'm getting used to it. My family usually eats seafood, so we'll have that for dinner.

I usually make Texas caviar but am trying a black eyed pea and collard greens soup with cornbread this year.
