I've never done newborn diapers just older baby.

But if they are willing to do the AIO at the same price, those are going to be less headache (no folding, all one piece, etc).

@Cole: It's really trial and error. I've never used the Kissaluvs fitted diaper, so I can't speak for them. As a NB, I found out rather quickly that my baby didn't like cotton diapers (she would scream when she wet them). It's better now, but I changed a lot of diapers. I liked the NB AIO, but I only had one so I couldn't use it a lot.

I started using inserts and Thirsties covers and that was much better. I have two Flip inserts, six BG pocket inserts, and 6 gDiapers inserts that I use with my covers and that system really works for us.

If you want to go with the AIO and try the fitteds, you could purchase fitteds/prefolds and covers separate. You should be able to sell them if you don't like them (I see them all the time on my local cloth swap page).

I also recommend talking to the cloth diaper shop about all of your options. They might offer a class to teach you about them and you would be able to see/feel all the types of diapers.

We did a BumGenius newborn diaper rental and looooooved it! Totally worth it! We did it through Twin City Diaper Co. Several other bees have as well.

@Cole: C was born at 6lbs, 10 oz and wore them since day 3 until he was 8 weeks old. He still fit them at that time but I went back to work and wanted his daycare to start getting used to the one size pockets we wanted to use for the majority of the time so I switched him at that point but really he probably could have stayed in them until he was about 3 months old. He had skinny legs and that probably gave him a little longer in them than other babies so I'd go with a comfortable 2 months.

@Cole: 30 should be plenty! Our situation has been that we're working with 16 split between upstairs and downstairs so I can never wrangle them all up at once. In terms of fit, LO was born 6 lbs 4 oz and went down to 6 lbs and they fit him well.
