We're having newborn photos done whenever LO makes her arrival. Looking for ideas and suggestions for poses and props! She has her own props but I'm not sure whether to get some of my own or what those would be. So let's see some photos and ideas!

What about things you and DH are into? Like DH is a huuuuuge football and golf fan so if we ever did NB photos I totally would've used a team helmet. And incorporated golf somehow. We love cooking so baby with some kind of chefs hat or maybe in a sauté pan LOL. Okay the later is silly but you get the idea.

I tend to take a less is more approach with these kinds of things, so we will be using my late FIL's baseball glove to put the baby inside like this.

We did some of her lying in/wrapped in the organza bottom of my wedding dress and I love them!

I like simple especially since I had boys. This is my favorite shot of my son's newborn shoot. Not sure if you can do outdoors. I also like this one by a large window.

I saw a picture on Pinterest using fresh flowers so that was one of the props I used for DD. Loved the way it turned out!

My photog has a lot of her own props too, but for DD I had gotten her one of those feather headbands in a NB size. It ended up being huge for her and we used it for some pictures in every photo session throughout her first year. It is really neat to watch the progression with her in the same setting (photog used the same backdrop and blanket (our own) in each and we have outfits that coordinate).

@Beth24: I love the idea of fresh flowers in a newborn shoot.
We mostly used the photog's props, but I did have a few headbands and we did a really cute shot of LO holding mini flags of DH's country and my state.

I bought a few headbands but mostly used photog props.

I made crochet blankets and hats for both of my kids and we used those in their newborn sessions.
