What do you do for newborn peeling skin? It's especially bad on her ankles and wrists since she's wearing socks and mitts all the time. I put some Aquaphor on it, but it just makes it peel worse and the skin comes off in chunks, which I don't think you're supposed to do...!!

I thought you wanted the skin to come off. She is molting so the skin has to be shed. For DD, I mixed pure shea butter with her mustela moisturiser and now her skin looks great.

Our pediatrician recommended only using soap in her bath every other bath and that really helped.

Less soap will help, but I would rub baby oil on her before putting on her pjs.

We used (and continue to do so) Cetaphil moisturizing cream (the one in the tub). It is awesome stuff and is safe for baby.

I was told to just leave it alone. Thought I needed to put lotion on my Lo, but nurses and doctor said not to put anything on her skin.

We just left it alone. The ped said it didn't need any kind of moisturizer.

I left it alone even though it drove me crazy!

We used whole milk and olive oil in the bath water until all his skin came off. It was the worst the first 3 weeks after his birth.
