CNN, New York Times, LA Times, Politico and BBC (among others) were barred from a press briefing today. Oh, but Breitbart was there... Is this real life? Regardless of your opinion on these outlets, this is a clear violation of the free press and should be appalling to anyone who cares about a free and democratic society.

When the polls were in and it was obvious that this presidency would be our reality, I remember thinking that I'm just waiting for aliens to fly into the sky. It's more true now.

The Washington Post has "Democracy Dies in Darkness" under their name on the website. It feels like an omen. This is really really scary.

@littlebug: They announced a day or two ago that it was going to be their new slogan. I think it went up first on the website but will be in print and anywhere else the WP logo appears shortly.
