Hellobee Boards

I left a few boxes of chocolate in the break room and they devoured them in a flash!! It went over very well. And I went back to leave a gift card for my L&D nurse. She was amazing and about to have a baby herself.

I made a huge basket filled with all kinds of snacks and had it dropped off at the nurses station. I included granola bars, cookies, trail mix, teddy grahams, etc. I think I also threw in some whole apples and oranges. Basically I just stocked up on individually wrapped lunch pack items. It was hit and everyone stopped by to thank us.

Brownies. You can't go wrong with brownies!

My labor went way too fast for us to even think of doing something ahead of time, but a couple weeks later we dropped off a bowl of brownies for our L&D team and for the NICU teams that we worked with, they did such a great job.

We brought in a bag of Reese's pumpkins for the nurses. It was much appreciated.

We also brought in bagels when I had a scheduled c section. We didn't leave a note saying it was from us, but gave them to our nurse and I believe a couple other staff were in the room when we handed them to her so they knew too. I have worked in L&D and have seen many types of snacks, depending on what time of day you go in, you could always order pizza or have DH or parents pick up bagels or donuts. Ideally the nurses and staff will tell each other who the treat is from.

@ChitownRo: That's a shame that people have thrown them out! I am never the direct recipient (I'm an anesthesiologist and nobody hands treats to an anesthesiologist) but I have seen lots of home baked goods in the departments I have worked in. We have one patient who unfortunately has to have repeat surgeries and his mom always brings homemade baklava. It is awesome.

I work on a L&D floor, and since we always have sweets and treats, I love when we get something healthy, like a fruit tray!

@shellio: I would love to hand a treat to my anesthesiologist, he was my favorite person I saw all day! I would have hopped off the table to hug him if I could

I made a basket overflowing with unhealthy yet tasty snacks and candy(single starbursts, single PB cups, lifesavers, peppridge farm cookies, girl scout cookies, granola bars, etc.) and a thank you for their help note with my name. I think it was appreciated. Though now that my LO is here and my family has become more health conscious, I would do it different next time and leave healthier snacks or at least make brownies that are organic or something.

@Danizaur: I brought lemon bars (I was induced so I prepared ahead of time. I left them at the nurses' station with a note that said "thanks for helping us have a baby! -the [our last name]" Our specific nurse thanked us & another nurse we saw later told us they'd been all eaten up. I remember apologizing to the Dr who did the vacuum extraction (he wasn't my dr) because I should've saved a lemon bar for him

I did have my husband run out the next day & get thank you cards & chocolate for my specific nurses. And I gave my midwife some honey from our beehive at my 6-week check-up. I think any gesture to show appreciation to those people who are doing such an important job is a great idea.
