I was just wondering how long others wait to go get their LOs when they wake up crying at night. I've been giving her 10 minutes to fall back asleep but last night she stopped crying right at 10 minutes and laid her head down but was still squirming until about 11 minutes.
So how long do you give your LO to fall back asleep on their own?

10-15. It feels like it takes her hours. In reality, it's probably only about 5-10 minutes.

Last night I gave her 15 minutes of crying before I went in at her first wake-up. I really wanted her to go back to sleep on her own. She tried, she found her thumb a few times and would suck and lay her head down, then she would pop right back up and get on her hands and knees, rock and cry again. This was our first attempt at CIO, though....

At your LO's age, I would give a minimum of 10 minutes and my eyes would be glued to the monitor! If your LO seems like she's settling at the 10-minute mark then definitely wait an extra few minutes! The older they get the longer you should wait as they can take even longer to fall back asleep.

We're non CIO so if P is just fussing/restless I'll generally wait it out, if she starts crying then I get her immediately. It's worked well so far and over the last few months I've had to get her less so she's learned to self-soothe more often completely on her own.

Well LO is 4 months old, I don't give her very long, maybe 5 minutes? I'll up it as she gets older.

@Sammyfab: That's kind of what I did last night. She was crying but I made myself wait 10 minutes and right at 10 minutes she wasn't crying, had her head down, and was just squirming a bit.
I was just worried that I let her go too long last night and I felt kind of bad but she fell back asleep about 11 minutes after she woke up and slept four more hours so I guess it was fine! And it helps to read everyone's times!

@Mrsbells: I used to do when she was in our room that but it's hard to tell on the monitor and she just gets angrier if I got in there.
