I know there are a couple nightshift bees on here and maybe some others who are just plain awake, what is going on ladies? I missed the post-athon (although they never seem to get as busy as they do on WB for some reason...)

Hey! I was kind of here for part of the post a thon but then had to leave to go shopping. I'm actually off tonight but woke up at 3 pm this afternoon so I'll be awake for a bit. Anyways...
What's going on with you?

I just got back from my "vacation" and enjoying a SLOW "Monday night". I couldn't sleep at all today! I am soooo tired. 6 am can't come fast enough!
It feels good knowing I'm not the only crazy person who works nights!

I'm losing my mind because I'm absurdly tired and trying to sleep, but can't quite get there. So I'm attempting to wear myself out online. The joys of being 38 weeks pregnant...

It's 10:40 here and I'm about to do my pre-bed pump. And I just got into an arguement with DH. Ugh. Not ready to go to bed yet.

I never get to postathons until after LO goes to bed... since I'm west coast, that's pretty late and its kinda quiet by then!

@Arden: I have a hard enough time sleeping on my nights off! I can't imagine how hard it is going to be when I am near the end... I might just never sleep! Everyone keeps saying "it prepares you for life with a baby"... Why would I want to practice that part yet? lol

@MaisyMay: Sorry about the argument! Glad to see you here, wish it wasn't on those terms though.

I'm on the west coast so it's not super late here. My husband is working at home so I'm catching up on blogs and hellobee

West Coast also. I am watching my Spanish soap while catching up on the postathon.

I'm here, its only 7.50pm Friday here, just got back from an evening walk with dh and LO, lo fell asleep on dh on the way home so trying to decide whether to wake her up for a bath now or let her sleep a bit and get her to bed later. It seems whenever I get on in the evenings it's pretty quiet because of the time difference.

Still awake! We didn't get A down till late tonight, then I had some time with DH, then pumped. now I'm in bed but watching A sleep instead of sleeping myself. Love the arms behind the head baby sleep!

@Mrs Hedgehog: Eh, just tiredness and frustration. It'll be fine.

@sandy: @Mummystar: Thats crazy! It is 1 am here. I am begging for the next 5 hours to fly by!

@travelgirl1: I am so easily distracted when trying to fall asleep I know that is going to be me when LO is here. Too much cuteness to miss out on!

It's midnight and I think I'm going to take a shower. Hopefully that will wind me down. DH is already asleep!

2 am and I'm up after transferring to the couch ... snoring husband. He slept on the couch the past two nights so I guess it's my turn. Just trying to get comfortable ...

2 am and just got done nursing. He could sleep for an hour or 5 hours -- damn newborns!
I should really be grabbing whatever sleep i can but here i am on Hellobee!

It's only 9:15 here. I missed most of the postathon because I had a doctors appointment. I'm trying to catch up on HB and I'm watching Tinkerbell.

Its 3a here and I have a bad case of insomnia... Sucky...
Been a wild couple of days though, so much to get done over the next little while.

It's 1 here and I'm rocking DS. Poor kid has been sick and woke up with a really nasty diaper.
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@Honeybee: hopefully! Snuggling a baby and rocking them to sleep. Sounds like heaven!

@Honeybee: since I work graveyards Im pretty much up late anyways. So it will be crazy trying to find a good schedule and balance!

@anonysquire: No kidding. That That's got to be hard. Not paying for full-time childcare would be nice, though! When I go back to work next year, DH and I hope to stagger our schedules so we won't need childcare besides part-time preschool. It really seems like the best situation!
pear / 1812 posts
@anonysquire: I am actually super worried about that! I hardly see Mr. Hedgie the nights I work and since I work 12's I go home, pass out, wake up long enough to eat, shower and go back to work. How am I supposed to have a baby on a normal schedule much less be able to see them during my work week? The flipside is I have a short workweek because I work longer hours so I get more time with them on my long "weekends".
How do you plan on managing this because I am seriously stressing the F out on the subject?

I'm here... It's 11:36 in NZ and this is the first chance I've had to sit down all day! DHs having his 30th birthday tomorrow so I have been decorating the house

I'm here. LO was up no less than 6 times last night and finally woke up "for good" at 4:30am. So I took him for a drive to get coffee and he's now passed out in his carseat and I'm stuck in my car for the time being. I'm just at my limit. Right now I'm thinking to the day ahead and having to deal with him and I feel like ugly crying.
About to ask DH to skip work, but he'll probably say no.

I'm here. We had our 1.5 hour wake up time. He was so drowsy, but refused to sleep. I woke up earlier than his wakeup expecting to be woken up. I haven't fallen back asleep since. You know how runners get great ideas/revelations when they run. It seems I get my good ideas while on the night shift with baby.

I'm here too, but it's 11 am here in England. Im cleaning my house and about to put C down for a nap. Then its to the grocery store and cooking because we're having people over tonight.

I'm up nursing... he wakes up like clockwork every 2-3 hours.

@sera_87: ooh I'm sorry for the rough night - hopefully the day will be better... Can DH help? Maybe do something fun? Mall and buy something if LO sleeps in his stroller/carseat? Last day before weekend!!
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@Honeybee: ya opposite schedules will be nice for the no daycare part!
@Mrs Hedgehog: Ya I'm stressing a bit too. I'm not sure yet if I'll work like the weekends when DH has them off, or just get my work over with during the week and enjoy the weekends together. My schedule is very flexible and can change from week to week so I'm lucky. I think we will end up taking it week by week!

@aprk: I feel your pain! I have a snoring husband and often have to take shifts on the couch. I always feel so guilty making him sleep on the couch but dangit he's one that's so loud!
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@walnutems: same here! Now that he is working from home instead of driving 2+ hours to work, I feel less bad
