I'm planning on doing that on our lower level when #2 comes in September, but it won't be our primary changing place. The only reason I would hesitate is that after a while wet bags can tear or wear out and you'll get leaks.

We have used an extra large wet bag (exclusively) for the past year and have had no problems. I am pregnant again and plan on using this same set up with baby #2. We ordered the wet bag on etsy and it has held up amazingly. Since being pregnant the first time (and especially now) I have had a crazy sense of smell and cannot smell it in her room.

We used a trash can. And we have run into an unforseen complication: My son now puts his underwear into the real trash can. At least underwear is cheap. Have you looked at the Grovia pail? It looks a lot like a wet bag. If we do it all again I am buying one of those.

We have an open trash can with the wet bag inside. I was talking with the owner of a local cloth diaper store, and she said a little air circulation is good.

We went from a diaper pail to a trash can that has a foot operated way to open the lid. With one hand on E and one on a dirty diaper, I wouldn't be able to open a zippered wet bag. The diaper pail openings aren't wide enough for our needs. Now we use it as a disposable trash one for wipes and such

That's what we've done, more or less, for the last year. I just hang large wetbags off the towel rack in our bathroom since I just change the kids on the floor. When a bag is full, it just goes in the laundry room. I've never had an issue with smell coming out of my zippered wetbags.

We used a wetbag in a trashcan... we would use a hanging wetbag when we traveled, but it was kinda a pain (like others have said, unzipping/zipping while changing the kid).
