I was no med because it was fast.
Water broke at 12:30
Contractions started around 3pm
Contractions got intense around 4pm
Pushing at 6:30pm
Birth at 8:30pm
Once it's push time it's too late for meds.
From 4-6 I dealt with it by being on the toilet (felt good), being in the shower (hot water on my back labour), and just breathing and trying to stay as upright as possible.
6-6:30 was so intensely painful in my back I thought I was going to die. I dealt with it by gripping the bed, closing my eyes, and burying my head in my pillow. Would have definitely taken any pain meds offered at this point, but we were waiting for a doc to check me.

I had half a dose of Nubain but it didn't have time to take effect. I started having contractions at 6:45am. I got to the hospital and my water broke around 4:45. I started pushing at 6:15 and she was out at 7:45.
They were prepping the epidural when I started involuntarily pushing. I had intended on going natural but I decided on the epidural because I felt like dying. I unfortunately chose this too late. I screamed as loud as I could while squeezing the cold cloth they gave me to get through each contraction. Luckily it only hurt that bad after my water broke.

I wanted to go natural for #2 and luckily for me she came pretty fast.
1p - first inkling of contractions
2 to 2:30p - starting to really think they are real
3p -DH comes home early from work; we pack & get ready
4p - take a shower
5p - doula arrives, DH picks up DD 1 from daycare, cousin arrives to babysit
6p - at the hospital
6:45p - I get checked, 9.5 cm dilated!
7p - Baby is born after 2 pushes
Total labor was 6 hours. I got through it with a lot of deep breathing, massages, changing positions, using a birthing ball, coconut water for hydration and positive thoughts.

For the first, I decided early on to give it a try with no meds but was open for the epidural if I couldn't take it. Labor started at 10am. It started getting painful around 1-2pm. By 3-4pm, it felt like too much and was only 6-7cm dilated. So shortly after, I asked for the epidural. But it took the anesthesiologist half an hour to get to the hospital. By then I was ready to push so I never got it. I pushed for half an hour and my son was born at 6:41 pm. My daughter was more or less the same except I never asked for the epidural. The epidural felt more like the unknown, scarier option for me then. Both times my husband coached me through all the contractions. The birthing classes really paid off for us.

I chose unmedicated, planned a homebirth vbac, transferred at 9 cm, and delivered DD naturally on the way to the O.R. (hospital has a vbac ban so I was an auto prep for repeat).
I had, I think, 5 nights of false labor, then consistent contractions for 37 hours before I got into active labor, and then 8 hours to delivering DD. So 45 hours on consistent labor.
My birthstory in on the birthstory board for how I dealt through it. =)

I ended up doing it med free which was the original plan.
We arrived at the hospital when I was 3cm and in alot of pain. At first I was able to breath threw them and use the birth ball to rock my hips. My contractions progressed quickly and soon were lasting 1.5 minutes 45 seconds apart. I went from 3cm to pushing in 2.5 hours. I don't think I succesfully dealt with the pain towards the end. I was screaming crying and just wishing it would go away. I tried to get an EPI at 8cm but it was to late and I was pushing 30 minutes after asking for an EPI. Pushing was very painful for me and I also don't think I dealt with that well I was screaming and crying the whole time. Thankfully I only pushed for about 5 minutes and she was out. After she was out it obviously was all worth it and I would do it again. I will have a better plan for pain management next go round though. I wasn't prepared for the intesity of active labor and transition.

First contractions (though I didn't know it at the time) so I sat on the toilet 11:30pm-12:30am.
Woke up husband because I started to realize it might be labor 12:30am.
Sat on toilet some more 12:30-1:30am
Stood in warm shower 1:30-2:30am
Tried other methods (labor ball, laying down in bath, hands and knees) 2:30-3:00am
Laid in bed while husband packed bag for hospital (slow steady breathing, laying on side, quiet atmosphere) 3:00-4:00am
Drove to hospital 4:00-4:45am
L&D triage 4:45-5:30am
In labor room 5:30am
Pushing 5:35am
Son born 5:41am

Went without an Epi by choice.
Thurs 9pm- water broke, contractions few and far between, easy to deal with
Fri 2pm- went to hospital to get checked, I was 2cm and thick, contractions still not regular or killer. I decided to go back home and labour in my comfort zone
Fri 3am- waking up for contractions then falling back asleep. I'd been doing natural induction stuff all evening and was exhausted. I was still able to work through contractions without much effort.
Sat 10am- back to hospital, I was 3 and thin, but decided it was time to check in.
Sat 2pm- I was stopping to breathe/rock through contractions, and we decided to hook up pitocin to get things moving along.
Sat 5pm- officially in active labour, contractions are coming every minute or two and intense. My doula kept reminding me to relax through the contractions instead of fight them. Allow them to dilate me. There was a lot of head rolling, cold washclothes on my neck and deep breathing.
11pm- transition- the room was spinning and I felt super high, Didn't even notice the contractions because I was so spaced out.
11:45- 3 pushes and we had a baby
Best advice, remember (or have someone there to remind you) not to 'fight' the contractions. You need to allow your body to do it's work. The more you resist, the longer and harder your body has to work.

I chose to go natural and took classes to help prepare. We also hired a doula but she ended up going to the ER while I was in labor...
12am Tues-water broke, mild sporadic contractions
1:30am-went to hostile told I was 1cm and they wanted to start Pitocin. I said no and made a plan to come back at noon.
12pm-back to the hospital. Still no progress. They wanted to start Pitocin, I said no again, wanted to walk and eat lunch first to see if that would start more contractions.
4pm-checked back in. Still no real progress but contractions were stronger from walking around.
5pm-started Pitocin 1cc
6pm-2cc Pitocin, starting to feel the contractions now and needed to use comfort measures (breathing, swaying, pressure on lower back)
9pm-feeling a lot of pain, asked to be checked. I was 7 cm!
10pm-felt need to push and throw up. 10cm!
10:30-12am-pushed and LO was born at 12:13am.
My best advice is to listen to your body and don't let anyone push you to do something medical unless you want to. If I had started the Pitocin at 1am when they wanted me to, I have no doubt that I wouldn't have made it without an epidural. By letting my body wait a while, I was able to go into labor pretty much on my own, with a little help from the Pitocin. I never needed more than the 2cc's and it can go all the way up to 60!

i did not choose to go natural! my biggest fear was not getting an epi because my mom had such a fast labor with me.
my water broke at 4:50p (3 cm)
contractions started at 5:20p? 1 min long, 1-2 min apart.
left for hosp around 6:30p..
got there at 7p,
checked into triage at 7:30 p & 6 cm
got a room at 8:20p and was 10 cm, +3 station.
I got the epi to push, but labored naturally. i coped by squeezing the life out of a balled up paper towel and crying that I couldn't do it & why wasn't I upstairs yet? also, 'ow ow ow ow ow!' LOL.
it was painful but honestly - i thought it was going to be worse!!

My story is pretty much identical to @BoogieBea, right down to the time of day! The only difference is that my water broke the day before but I didn't go into labor. I was induced the following morning at 10am because they were worried about infection and it had been almost 24 hours since my water broke.

wow so interesting and helpful to read these birth summaries of no med deliveries. my question is why does it seem like the hospitals keep pushing Picotin to induce labor instead of letting it progress naturally?

Chose a natural birth both times and the first time was 26 hours with 7 hours of really hard, transition-type labor. That time I swayed my hips, sat in the bathtub, vocalized, and just tried to focus on relaxing and letting my body do what it had to do. My second labor was 25 hours long, but only 2 hours of really hard labor (makes SUCH a difference if your water stays intact longer- the contractions were MUCH easier to handle!). That time I did pretty much the same things to deal with the intensity, except I didn't have a bathtub available to sit in, so I ended up on my hands and knees in the shower, with the water spraying on my back. That helped some, but it would have been better if the water was hotter and the pressure was harder, lol.

I always wanted a natural birth.
Water broke at 3:30 am
Went to the hospital at 8 am
Started pushing at 10:30 am
Baby was born at 10:59 am
I coped by bouncing on the ball and then got in the tub for awhile. Mostly I just closed my eyes and focused really hard on breathing through the contractions. The nurse said I was the most calm woman shed ever seen.

My plan was to go all natural. I had a doula who was AMAZING and I could not done it with out her or my DH.
4:00 AM - contractions start like menstrual cramps
11:00 AM - contractions start getting intense and all in my back
4:00 PM - Arrive at hospital at 7 cm dilated
7:15 PM - Deliver my son
Total labor is approx 15 hours.
