We just found out well be moving to NC, about an hour from Raleigh, in 6 months for DH's work. Anyone fm or lived in this area before? Trying to get a feel for what it might be like and what there is to do as we've never been, and looking for some reasons to get excited. It's not in the areas we were hoping for to be close to family, but hoping it will be fun anyways!

My husband went to UNC- Chapel Hill and he loves the area. When DH was in high school his family lived in Cary, NC. It seems like a very family friendly area.

We just moved to the area a few months ago for my husband's work. We are still learning and getting used to things down here, but so far so good!

I lived near Greensboro and loved the area! The weather is great and there is so much to do in such a close range.

I'm near Fayetteville, I love it here! Close to the mountians and the beacb. What town will you be in/near?

He'll be working in Goldsboro, from what I've been reading I'm not site we will live in the immediate area as it seems like there is some crime problems, but somewhere within a close commute.

It's not too bad, it's just very rural. There is a lot of farm land out there. You're going to be close to me!

You'll love it! I'm near Charlotte, but Raleigh is great, too. The Carolinas have some nice cities.

Well, the Smithfield outlets are near there.
I'm in Raleigh and I know we have a few other people around the NC area. You're somewhat close to the coast and some beautiful beaches.
