My 18 mo old has had two bloody noses this month. The first time I noticed after I picked her up from the babysitter, her nose was crusty with blood. The babysitter said she ran into the couch, but didn't see any blood.
Tonight she ate dinner, acted fine, then started bawling. After about ten minutes I noticed blood, and it just keeps trickling out. I'm not sure what's causing them.
Anyone else have lo's with this?

My little brother in law (14 years old) had recurring nose bleeds. He ended up have an outpatient procedure done to get rid of the blood vessels that were causing them. From what I understand, both the bleeds and the procedure were painless, and once taken care of, it hasn't come back. This happened when he was 6.

Both my kids have recurrent nosebleeds. Our pediatrician suggested taking a swab of vaseline and rubbing it inside the nostril to keep it moist. It also helps slow down nosebleeds. We run the humidifier every night to combat this problem. I'm not sure if its genetic, but both my husband and I had regular nosebleeds as children, and eventually grew out of them.

My son (3 hrs old)has nosebleeds sometimes and I don't know what causes it. He usually has it when he's napping. My DH thinks our son is picking his nose and causing the nosebleed, but he doesn't really pick his nose so I'm not sold on that one.
