@simply_london: sorry to hear that.
But just so you're prepared your OB will likely send you home. with instructions to start temping, charting, taking OPKs etc.
Fertility is not a concern until a year for 30 and under and 6 months for those over.
Unless there is other medical reasons already determined.

I'm not sure of your age, but if you're under 35, most sources recommend seeking help if you're not pregnant after a year. 4 months is still very early, so I wouldn't be too stressed.

Yeah like @locavore_mama said, unless your cycles are irregular or you have known fertility issues, the doctor probably will not be too concerned that you have been trying for 4 months and have not gotten pregnant. Don't panic, chances are you are completely normal... it's harder than it seems to get knocked up!
I recommend heading to FertilityFriend.com and reading their resources there! They have a load of useful (and free) information on how to chart your BBT and track other fertility signs to get pregnant faster.
Good luck!

Do you have any additional issues that you know of that may be preventing you from getting pregnant?

@simply_london: Glad to hear that you're headed to your GYN. He/she may or may not run any tests on you. If you don't feel like you're being taken seriously, certainly speak up.

@simply_london: Sorry you're not pregnant (yet!) I suggest calling your insurance. Some will not pay for any testing until it's been a year. Some doctors require some sort of proof you've been trying a year before they'll run tests. I do not chart, but keep a calendar of timed intercourse using opks. I went in at 6 months, and am now on month 7 or 8, losing count. I can't get" testing" for a few more months but I'll be ready with something.

I'm very sorry to hear this. Best of luck at your appointment. Maybe temping is the way to go for you?
