So, we are preparing to potty train DD very soon and have decided to try without using pull-ups. My question is, how many pairs of panties should we have on hand?
I don't mind doing laundry every day if necessary but no clue as to how many pairs we should start with.

I have about 15 for DS. I have a pair in my purse and I keep a pair in DH's car. When we first started we were going threw maybe 4 pairs a day. I did take him potty every 45 minutes or so and that really helped cut down on the accidents.

My son is young (only 15 months) but we go through more than 7 cloth training pants a day. I just bought 3 - 7 packs and 3 - 3 packs of undies for him to wear. We also put him in diapers for naps and bedtime.

When we made the final push, we just let DD run around half naked for a few days. Once she caught on, we started using real underwear, and then she'd only go through 1-2 pairs a day. I would say 15 pairs would be good, if you only want to do laundry every couple days.

Thanks everyone, because we aren't planning to do pull-ups I've bought or she's been gifted (mainly as a "you're going to be a big sister gift" about 15 pairs) of panties and then I've purchased a couple pairs of vinyl pants (we have carpet in pretty much every room. Sounds like aside from possibly doing a lot of laundry we should be set.

We also let her run around half naked for a couple days at first, and we are using pull ups at night. We have 14 pair and that seems to be working fine.
