@peachykeen: Sorry about the bfn. I hope you can get in another poas date soon.

Not doing opks this month, so no clue what exact day inoculated this month. So, I really can't even early test lol.

@peachykeen: I hope you do get another shot to POAS in November. And yay for energy for cleaning and organization. I have been doing some much needed cleaning and organization around our house this weekend too.

    @Mrs. J: yay for a positive opk!

@dc yoga bee: I'm not doing opks either. I usually test a day or two before I expect AF. Although with LO I actually waited until AF was two days late! I'm not sure I will have that willpower again!

@shellio: @jhd: thanks. My temps dropped a little yesterday so it wasn't totally unexpected, although I thought it might not come until tomorrow!

@Banana330: I'm sorry You and I always seem to be on the same schedule - my AF showed up this morning. It's rough - I cried this time even though I pretty much knew it was over. I'm taking up temping again - next cycle is going to be the one for both of us

@peachykeen: Oh so sorry about AF! Lets hope so!
I'm going to try acupuncture this cycle and hopefully it helps.

I'm back... AF showed up a little early (a blessing in this case). I guess I'll officially join now in hopes of POAS end of month

    Cycle Day: 1
TTC Cycle: either 2 or 6 (first full cycle after miscarriage in October)
Ovulation Date: Nov 17 or 18?
POAS Date: Nov 30 (but I'll probably really end up testing Nov 28 if I O on schedule)
    Baby #: 2
What's up this month: probably should have taken last month off for my own sanity, but I'm looking forward to a more predictable cycle (I hope) and starting temping again
For Fun: What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish? A veggie dish a family friend introduced us to - California veggie mix, cream of mushroom soup, Monterey Jack cheese, and French fried onions - yum!

I'm 6 DPO and having red/brown blood. I'm not counting myself out yet until the flow picks up, I'm hoping its implantation bleeding (?? Possibly??) rather than AF way too early......

  20. Banana330

    nectarine / 2317 posts

@jaybee28: that's strange to have it at 6dpo if it isn't implantation bleeding. I had it once at 10dpo but that was an early period. Fingers crossed it ends soon!

@Banana330: that's what I'm hoping! But I'm breastfeeding and this is my first full cycle post partum so it definitely could be irregular.

Might actually be my last ttc for a while.
My husband and I do not seem to be on the same page as far as work and having more children.

I recently took a position to start Decmber, and I was torn about starting something new while having a very comfortable job. This new position would mean no commute not more money.

Question to the board, would you cancel a new position after finding out you were pregnant or go through with it? Start a new job or keep the one your are comfortable with.

@MzPumpkin: I guess it would have to depend on if the new position would be understanding of the pregnancy. As long as you haven't given notice to your current position, you could always tell the new position your situation and see what they say, and then make a decision.

Can't believe I set my POAS date to election day, jeez. I seriously doubt that I am pregnant. I feel totally fine, and my boobs have been getting less and less sore as the days go on, which to me just means my progesterone is starting to decline...Had to stop myself from googling "diminish ovarian reserve" because I'm crazy. It's so stressful having to wait till March to get evaluated....unless I make some crazy story to tell my obgyn to trigger some testing.

  27. jhd

    coconut / 8079 posts

@MzPumpkin: I don't know much about this, but no commute when LO gets here would be a huge plus!

  28. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@MzPumpkin: I think it depends. I'm assuming you haven't told your current job. You could tell them and see how it works out. My two cents is that I commute, and I still have a great quality of life and time with my LO. I chose not to start a new position (still would be commuting) when baby was first born. I had "proven"myself at my agency, built up time (don't know how maternity leave or FMLA etc works in your situation ), and was able to dial it back because I knew the job so well in those early days of sleep depravation and pumping 3-4x a day. Now that baby is 17months I've been looking.

@Tionn3: I'm actually going to test on Election Day as well! I'm having a root canal on Election Day (ha!) with laughing gas. I need to know if I'm pregnant in case can't have it!

    Congrats to the bfps!

I have been trying to be more zen. Haven't gotten a positive opk yet. Will see if I do today at day 19 like last cycle. And the worry about my luteal phase length can begin/continue. Ha. I either won't ovulate this cycle or will late I guess or have already. So many options! Though I am testing with opks multiple times a day and sometimes see a faint faint line and sometimes don't. I'm breastfeeding and am wondering if that's messing my cycles up? Anyone else breastfeeding a few times a day? I'd like to continue and hope it won't impact me getting pregnant.

ETA: damn, not positive but darker than yesterday. Not dark enough to count as even close to a positive opk. That makes me feel pretty discouraged for this cycle now.

@Tionn3: I had no symptoms at all when I got pregnant the first time and I have never had sore boobs since I have had a period. Just throwing it out there. :). My only pregnancy symptom was a missed period.

. @MzPumpkin: I would keep a new job as long as I liked I and the better commute would be a huge huge selling feature. I would have to get the job before being pregnant though. I wouldn't want to switch during just for personal comfort and routine reasons. The maternity leave mentioned above would be a good reason to potentially stay at an old job too.

  31. Banana330

    nectarine / 2317 posts

@MzPumpkin: I agree it depends if switching would have an impact on how long you could have off. It's not an issue where I live so if it was a job I wanted to be in for the long run I think I would make the switch.

So after all the freaking out that I didn't ovulated I think I might have at CD 25-26 which would put a POAS date of 11/11 (maybe it will bring me luck). While I am waiting my boobs are killing me, heavy and kind of stabby anyone have any good suggestions for dealing with this? What I want to do is shove ice packs in my bra, this is not an acceptable work activity though

I tested this morning and it was a BFN...not surprising. I really do think I'm out this cycle, and I'm just going to wait for AF. Onto cycle 8...

@snarkybiochemist: My boobs almost always (>80% of cycles) get sore and heavy around 6/7dpo (sometimes later, like 8/9) when my progesterone is supposedly at its highest. A good supportive bra helps. Other than that, I don't know how to make them stop being sore.

  35. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@Tionn3: thanks I have tried every bra I have and none seem to make a difference, but maybe I just have crappy bras, my boobs only do this some cycles so its always a mystery

  36. Banana330

    nectarine / 2317 posts

    @Tionn3: sorry about the BFN

@snarkybiochemist: skipping underwire bras helps I find. I pull out my nursing bras or a sports bra for days I'm really sore.

@Banana330: I only have underwires and my sports bras are all super compressing, but maybe its worth a shot

Well I got a positive OPK Saturday night and Sunday morning so not sure when I actually ovulated but I think I can move my POAS date up to 11/20.
How long do ya'll typically ovulate after the first positive OPK? And does anyone else have ovulation pain? I had a pretty sharp pain that woke up me up last night; it was on my right side next to my hip bone. Weird!

  39. Tionn3

    kiwi / 680 posts

@mrskansas: I typically ovulate within 24 - 48 hours after the first positive opk.

    nectarine / 2317 posts

    @mrskansas: I've O'd as early as 12hrs after but more often it's 24hrs.
