@snarkybiochemist: @Tionn3: Ha Ha I do that too! As soon as I O I check what the due date might be. It's so hard with all the waiting time each cycle.

@snarkybiochemist: I do the same thing!! I think January will be particularly hard for me because that is when our baby would have been due if we had conceived on our first month =[

@Petitduck: are you taking any supplements for your LP? I found B6 and B12 really help extend mine.

@bizwitch: Ugh I know how that feels to see those stark white wondfos. I hope AF stays away for you! I totally get the election stress too.

@Banana330: @Tionn3: So glad I'm not the only one who does that.

@Banana330: @snarkybiochemist: @Tionn3: oh I do that every time. Last cycle would have made for an Xmas announcement for me, so I even thought about how I would do that

@Mrs. J: yea I have lovely creative ideas for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years pregnancy announcements. I will need to figure out a few more. At least I have a fail-safe when announcing to my family that will work no matter what season it is. I plan on giving my 3 nephews numbered signs and then hold one myself with a 4 on it and say we are taking a picture for grandma and grandpa and see how long it takes everyone to work it out

@tionn3 @banana330 @snarkybiochemist I do the same thing! I see it as a fun little detail for my husband and I to get excited about. I'll often look up the potential astrological sign too.

@Mrs. J: not currently. I have been taking my prenatal for two years now. Can I take something with my prenatal?
ETA: I found an old bottle of a stress b complex I had that has expired, but I can buy more and it contains b6, b12, and some other stuff like vitamin c, and also 1mg of folic acid so I could just switch to this for a while to see if it helps, bonus if it helps with stress too. My prenatal also has b6 and b12 in it, but I can't figure out how much it is, it says 1.9mg and 2.6mcg of each respectively and then the b complex is 50 mg and 50 mg of each. Stupid question, but which has a higher concentration?

@Tionn3: thanks. That's what I thought but a google conversion was really confusing me.

@Banana330: I haven't been doing that great of a job with tracking it lately, but from the previous months it looked to be around 12 - 13 days. I had a high temp the day after I got my first positive opk, and then the next day it went down a little but was still a little high...so I think today is either 12 or 13dpo ( 13 if I actually did ovulate after my first positive opk). I think my average is like 13, with sometimes it being 14 and other times it being 12.
ETA: I think I'm going to go back to temping full time next cycle.

@Tionn3: That's around what mine is these days. It sounds like a good length. Sorry about spotting. Next month will be ours!

@Petitduck: I would take a B multi along with your prenatal. I had issues with a short LP (9-10 days) when I was trying for my first. I think the B vitamin helped. We also used preseed although both were used for several months before I got my BFP.

Hi all! I took a step away for a bit after the events of last week. At 13 DPO I got a BFP, and I was over the moon. But it was so, so, so faint that I was really concerned it wouldn't stick. I remember hearing 'a line is a line, no matter how faint' so I was cautiously hopeful. I took two more tests throughout the day and night, both BFP and getting darker. But the next day my period started - and I literally spent the whole day on the couch in horrible pain. I couldn't believe how painful the cramps were! I am supposing I had a very early mc. I'm glad that this means we can get pregnant, and looking forward to this cycle.
My next O is 11/17, and next POAS is 12/1.
And so much has happened in a week here! @shellio @pmerr CONGRATULATIONS!

alright ladies, I need some cheering up after last night, so let's get some BFPs!!

@Mrs. J: I was going to post the same exact thing. I can't stop crying and need some happy news.

@Mrs. Blush: I'm so sorry to hear that. The same thing happened to me this month - it really messes with your emotions! Here's to sticky BFPs for both of us next month

@Mrs. Blush: oh no. Sorry to hear that. Good to look on the bright side-you can get pregnant. Bring on December!

Spotting at 10 DPO, normally I don't spot until 12 DPO and then get my period the next day. Not a happy camper today. I was also figuring that if I got my period Saturday/Sunday I would be at the RE CD3-4 and they could draw CD 3 blood work to help move the process along

After last night....I'm happy for the first time I'm not pregnant. I am literally freaking out. I work in research and am funded by the NIH, and I am terrified that they are going to cut our funding after what happened last night. I may not even have a job or health insurance by this time next year. =[

@Tionn3: What type of research do you do? I am a biochemist and I work at a medical school, thankfully my position is hard money and not dependent on grants. Its still scary to think about what a president can do involving funding based on their own personal feelings towards science.
kiwi / 680 posts
@snarkybiochemist: I work in HIV research doing data stuff. I'm also at a medical school, but I'm 100% grant funded. We are literally renewing the grant that I am funded by as we speak. There is suppose to be a decision in November. I have no idea what is going to happen now.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@Tionn3: Good luck, hopefully the grant goes through during the next 70 or so days of the current presidency

@Tionn3: @snarkybiochemist: I'm concerned about this too. I'm a fed contractor in public health and concerned the new government will consider our research and programs not worth the investment...

@snarkybiochemist: The last time we had a budget problem in our department it wasn't because the NIH budget actually got cut, it was because it was threatening to be cut, and so the NIH refused to fund any big projects because they were anticipating a cut that then didn't happen. I could see that happening again even in the final days of the presidency.

@Tionn3: unfortunately thats probably the case, no one knows what the future will bring with the next presidency so

@Mrs. Blush: Sorry, for next month.
@Tionn3: @snarkybiochemist: Yuck. I hope even if this comes to pass that Mark Z. or Bill Gates or someone can pick up some of the slack, maybe that's too optimistic to hope for, though I feel like we've already been moving in that direction. I also work in research and currently have some funding from the NSF - I hope they don't take away from projects already in progress, as I think Trump in particular would want to shut down the program that funded part of my grant. I'm lucky that my position itself is hard money and if needed I can change my research to things that require fewer resources to study, though I think in the medium term my field would shrink as well without federal funding.
9dpo here and not feeling optimistic at all. Progesterone linked PMS symptoms seem to be fading, which I assume is a bad sign. I very briefly entertained the idea of testing this morning but I decided I'd already had a bad enough 12 hours and seeing a BFN wouldn't help.
