@Petitduck: Lol. It is okay. I'm a bit "wordy" when I write; therefore, I'm not surprised it was a bit confusing. I'm actually considering temping both orally and with Tempdrop to determine my BBT ovulatory shift next cycle and THEN afterwards allowing my Tempdrop to record my temps on Ovacue the remainder of my cycle while I remain "blissfully unaware" of what they may be. I want to zero in more on my body cues rather than solely on LH, temps, and timing. Something new, less technical, and more laid back.

@Kaohinani: Iβm a fan of wordy. My fault for pushing a stroller and checking hb! A more relaxed approach is probably always the way to go, right?! π€£
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Petitduck: Hey, clinical and overdoing it hasn't worked in almost 3 years ... why not try an EVEN MORE relaxed version before heading to the RE in December, right? Can't hurt.
kiwi / 624 posts
@Kaohinani: now you just know your body REALLY well and have lots of good info for the RE so thereβs no messing around when ou see them. You havenβt been to one before, right? Just your obgyn?
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Petitduck: Yes, ma'am... This will be a "spanking new" RE. We had seen one after our 1st year trying, ran all of our tests (everything was clear and beautiful), was given the stamp of "secondary infertility without a definitive cause," and asked if we would like to try IVF (* which Tricare does not cover). DH declined and we decided to keep trying naturally. I've done a few cycles of Clomid (bad side effects, especially wrecks my metabolism and causes my edema to act up) but since I OV regularly and have a long luteal phase, there isn't really much need for it except to produce EXTRA follicles for a higher chance of fertilization... which never happened. I digress... I'm nearly 39 now (* started TTC RIGHT before I turned 36) so we figured we would try a new RE, run all tests again, and maybe try IUI or ICI for a cycle or two. Perhaps after 2 c-sections, the swimmers can't navigate the scar tissue and "nooks and crannies." π€£ My fingers π€and toes are crossed that something takes as this has been a looong TTC journey for a #3.

@Kaohinani: maybe fresh eyes will help. I feel like if I was an RE it would be my goal to get people pregnant and Iβd feel like such a failure if I didnβt. I think some of the people that people on here talk about seem so unhelpful and unmotivated.
I had a dream, read nightmare, last night that my doctor told me there is no hope for me to get knocked up with my 10 day periods that are up and down. I may have been googling before bed last night...I have been battling insomnia issues for 6+ months and Iβm just recently starting to sleep better, but thatβs leading to more dreams. I realize Iβm nowhere near the stage of other peopleβs attempts for a baby yet, but I still feel so sad and anxious already with the months of tracking stuff that is clearly not right.
One more month until you see the specialist, challenge to get knocked up before you see them!
Hearing about Clomid side effects makes me feel yucky in support. Iβm remembering now reading about yours and samsmomβs ezperiences with it. IVF is so commonplace now, shouldnβt someone be making it more affordable.
Also, score about Thanksgiving.

@Petitduck: I'm so sorry I couldn't reply earlier. We ate an early supper and then I began grading papers (* I know, as a professor I am not supposed to say this, but grading English papers from my adult students is not nearly as exciting as when I was teaching upper elementary and SPED. Adults just don't give a sh#t. Soooooooo frustrating.) Anyway, I agree, hopefully a new RE will provide some "something" in the way of conception after so long. I'm hoping we conceive before our appt so our "complimentary" ultrasound can be used to see if there is a embryo and yoke sac. As far as your nightmares as concerned, you aren't alone. I began having them 3 mos into TTC ... and we are STILL going (Please, do not let THAT fact scare you. ). I began taking ambien but I was sleep walking and eating (yup, you read that correctly) so I quit that 2-1/2 years ago. As for Clomid, so many people seem to have wonderful progress with it. I did not. Of course, as I stated, I OV on my own and I have long luteal phases so, really, it was only to recruit more eggs. Unfortunately, I was hypersensitive to it's side effects. Both Sams Mom and myself seem to get different, albeit, very intense effects. Mine are very Progesterone-driven. Veiny breasts, gagging at smells, weight gain, sore nipples, severe swelling of the ovaries, difficulty urinating, painful BD-ING, acne, headaches, and increased BBT/flush. Sam's Mom had it worse ... she is my hero bc she took even higher doses than I at one point (#champ). Anyway, I agree that IVF should be made more affordable since [now] it is far more commonplace than it was years ago. Not only that, but physicians are finding that it is "medically necessary" in many instances (* example- my husband was active duty Army working with crazy amounts of hazardous materials. He is now in the reserves, but his FT job places him in the path of possible chemical/hazardous materials on certain work sites. IVF would be beneficial for procreation ... atleast so our children are not their own night lights. But we still try. I kid. π€£π€£ ) Oh, and SCORE on Thanksgiving! I may actually be able to get my BD time in for a hopeful DECEMBER BFP. π€π€π€

@Kaohinani: sorry to bug ya but I posted a question within a reply to @samsmom and you might have missed it. How do you get the testing countdown to show up in FF?
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@yellowbeach: I searched the Googles and figured it out (and Kaohinani is in bed π€£) after FF figures out your cycles (3-4 in if you're consistent) it will start the test countdown.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@yellowbeach: I'm sorry, yellowbeach, I didn't see it. Sams Mom is correct (and not just that I was already sleeping. π€£). After you have OVed, FF will display the countdown. It will only do so AFTER you have had 4 consistent cycles (with the same length luteal phases). This is difficult for individuals with PCOS, who have suffered miscarriages/CPs, have other hormonal imbalances, OR are going through ART (*which you have been), as the luteal may fluctuate by as much as 4-6 days monthly instead of the average 1-2. So, long story made a tiny bit shorter, , FF does not have enough consistent data on you to identify a reliable "countdown" date. βΉ

@Petitduck: It is my pleasure to respond.
I'm glad your marathon AF finally ended ... now, on to the world of OV checks, BD-ing, and dreaded TWW.

FYI while really just NT/NP, I took a FRER this morning and got a which was my desired result. Still afraid of not having some control over the chromosomes. Should get AF today and be able to call the RE Monday to figure out the details of our December transfer.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@yellowbeach: I feel really weird saying this but, "Congrats on your BFN." π€ I completely understand your concern of chromosomal defect so, I suppose, even if you are NTNP and are a bit hopeful for a healthy natural conception, you must be a bit relieved to see your BFN. Let's hope December gives you a nice sticky embie! π€
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Kaohinani: do you think that I could "see" my period coming with decreasing bbt? Or am I so out of whack hormonally that it's just a wait and see?
I mainly ask because I seem to be on a downward trend and am strangely hoping for AF.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: Geez. I want to say you COULD; however, since your "8 dpo," you have been on a nifty see-saw "sawtooth" pattern (albeit, it is descending!), so I'm not 100%. I would give it one or two more temps to verify a downward trend. In the meantime, let us hope AF shows for you so you can begin this cycle!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
So, my cold π€§ is finally clearing up (Yay!!!); however, I have a headache π€ only on the left side of my head and my eye orbital. My vision keeps getting blurry as well in that eye. I'm assuming my sinus cavity is full on that side and I'm feeling intense pressure (sinus headache?) only on that side. WEIRD. Oh, well, I'm functional so, "suck it up, buttercup," it is. π€£ AF is also SUPER heavy (for me) which is probably a normal AF bleed for most. Maybe, it is hormonal as well. IDK. π€·ββοΈ
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Kaohinani: the blurred vision probably isn't a good thing woman! But I have pulled the same "it will buff out" mentality for myself
A heavier than usual AF could be good? Maybe means you have a good lining?
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: Thank you. If it continues a couple days, I'll get it checked. (I spend so much time at dr apts that I prefer not to go unless I HAVE to for unscheduled visits. )
For now, it is just super annoying. As for the AF, I'm hoping you are right. π€

@Kaohinani: Thanks for checking in!
I've been consistently reading along, and laughing along, with the thread. I am 6 dpo right now as I ovulated a few days later than I thought originally. My POAS date will need to be pushed back a little, maybe 11/15? I'm trying to be relaxed (HA!) during the TWW. If we don't get pregnant this month, we are probably skipping next month due to a planned family vacation with my ILs. That has me a little grumpy but I'm trying not to think about it unless I have to.
Otherwise, I'm rooting everyone on! Life is busy here with a physical office move at work and just life with kids in school.
How's everyone's weekend going???

@creativemomma15: I can push that date back for you. So sorry to read that you won't be joining the Dec POAS if you don't get your BFP. Let's think positively and hope you get your BFP this cycle. π€

@Kaohinani: My MIL and I are taking DD to Peppa Pig Live tonight - god help me. Is it bad that I'm more stressed about the MIL part than a potential meltdown by DD?

@Kaohinani: That near-positive opk few a couple days ago turned out to be a false alarm - cd10 today and still awaiting my positive. I typically get my positive on cd10 so I was hoping to see it darken today, but this mornings is the lightest yet this cycle so I have a feeling I'll have a delayed o. Boo.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@bananasareyellow: Wow, that is a bummer!! Have you been temping? (Sorry, I'm not questioning you, I just can't believe it!)
I did have one cycle, a few months back ( Sams Mom & Yellowbeach may remember), when my OPKs never reached their full LH potential. I asked my OBGYN about it and he stated that as long as there is "build up" to the highest level one sustains on the LH strip (* not one day a control line, next a positive, and then back to a single control), one can count it as a positive. He also stated (what I already knew), that a definitive thermal shift following (or a day 21 progesterone test) would prove true for OV following an uncertain strip. So, back to my [long-winded ] story - I temped, there was a thermal shift, went back to see him, and OV was confirmed. I had NEVER had such a light OPK as I had that month. Almost made me NOT trust them!!!
I'm not saying that is what is going on with you; however, perhaps a possibility in the vast realm of possibilities out there .... or, you're just still waiting to OV.

@Yellowbeach: How was Peppa Pig with DD? I bet she had an amazing time. How did you hold up with your company (MIL) for the show?
kiwi / 624 posts
@Kaohinani: @Sams Mom: cute kids and silly! My second is a boy and Iβm slowly discovering that this is going to be a whole different parenting journey than it has been thus far with my daughter. π€£π€£
@bananasareyellow: so annoying when your body messes with you like that. Do you check in the afternoon too just to be sure? Afm, mine got super light and went to nothing since that first random dark one so Iβm not expecting early ov this cycle.

@Petitduck: Thank you!
My DD and DS are polar opposites. DD is very social (and articulate). She never really enjoyed dolls or using her imagination to "play," rather, she craves social interaction, reading, STEM-based activities, "girly" interests, art, and horseback riding. She is my cuddle-bug.
DS is not articulate (* SEVERE speech delay); however, he is EXTREMELY imaginative, can play by himself OR with others, is VERY athletic, loves to make others laugh (for attention... a true 2nd child/baby if the family), and is fairly easygoing. He is more like me ... very "choice" when he cuddles.
Sometimes I wonder how these 2 could possibly be related!!!! π€£π€£ Genetics are amazing! I would LOVE to see how a 3rd manifests and the dynamic of 1 more as part of our family.
