@LCTBQE: The nurse I spoke with at the office I go to told me the same thing. Wait until six weeks. Yesterday was 5 weeks, so...more waiting. Still spotting, and its picking up. I had a period that started like this in August- almost a full week of spotting before a very light period (and I assumed that cycle was anovulatory, so same thing could be happening now I guess).

@Silva: the waiting around is infuriating. but, it really sounds like your body is trying to make it happen and like you're on your way. after this when your hormones reset and your temps make sense again, I hope you feel a little better.
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@LCTBQE: thanks for the support. I know I've been kind of relentless and whiny about it. I'm eager to start trying again, and terribly, foolishly optimistic because I've gotten pregnant right out of the gate twice now. Trying to temper my optimism, but it's not really working.

@Silva: venting is good & you need to be able to process all of this somewhere right?! I'm really hopeful you get your AF soon!! I feel your pain on the waiting.
nectarine / 2461 posts
@Kitkat: awesome! sounds very organized over there, love it can't wait for your tww to be over
@tiramisu: nice to see you here!!
@Ajsmommy: hi, there if your temps haven't risen yet you're probably in great shape with the husbandly scheduling? good luck at your specialist appointment--I hope they can give you better information.
@KathrynElizabeth828: bummer about the period. but same question as @MrsB2012! do you know when to expect your next ovulation?
@pwnstar: @nutella: @marley: sounds like a blissful unawareness that lead to three perfect babies wish I could replicate your collective experience while drinking wine in a sauna on heavy sedation.
thanks for the congrats and happy wishes, everyone, but I am proceeding basically on tip toe here. I still think my beta was low and my FRER line from this morning (17dpo) barely darkened from the 15dpo test. I'm glad to get a BFP this cycle but this one is freaking me out so far.
nectarine / 2461 posts
@Silva: yeah, exactly what @nutella said. I completely understand the impatience, when my O was a week late this past cycle (never happened before in my life, btw) I was convinced it was anovulatory and that I was being robbed. anyway, it sounds like your optimism is logical and founded and all that good shit.

@mrschickpea: that IS far south, but then I'll bet the city grows around you, incorporates Buda, and your property value doubles in the next 5 years. I wish the dancing girls emoji would show up on this thing!

Cycle Day: 21
TTC Cycle #: 1
Ovulation & POAS date: O Last week (thankfully my husband was home), POAS should be Nov12, (but I'll probably try a few days early)
Baby #: 2
Your plan this month: just waiting it out If negative, we'll dance again in 3 weeks.
For Fun: What are you thankful for this year? My job! Hard to get a teaching job in this city.

Thanks everyone.
@flowergarden – so sweet to offer but I am okay. We did not have great coverage during ovulation this month so I cannot say I’m shocked. We also have a routine for the first cycle day that involves a large espresso coffee (I cut back caffeine the rest of the month), a glass of wine, and lots of chocolate.
@Mrsb2012- unfortunately not my cycles are 29 days so I am looking at early December.
@Lctbqe- I am thinking it will be CD 18/19, but I will also do OPK to be sure!
@Jojo, @Mrschickpea, @kitkat- I’d love to hear more about your experience with Paleo, do you have any good resources for Paleo in relation to fertility? I’ve been considering doing GF and less dairy products because I have friends who say that can help. It would be nice to try something that is within my control.
apricot / 325 posts
@KathrynElizabeth828: I don't have any resources specific to fertility, but the book I read that got me started was called "It Starts With Food". From there I did a Whole30 (30 days very strict Paleo), now I just try to eat Paleo as much as I can (but need to get better about pasta ) try paleomg.com and nomnompaleo.com for recipes. Both women who run those websites also have great cookbooks. "Well Fed" is another good cookbook. And I definitely hear you about doing things that are within your control...my husband doesn't understand how temping/charting don't stress me out more, but it makes me feel better to actually have data to look at and show my doctor if it comes to that! Good luck!

@Kitkat: thanks for posting those paleo sites, I'm also going to check them out! I definitely feel like empty carbs are one of my weaknesses!
@KathrynElizabeth828: I hear you on the liking to control things that are within our control! Enjoy the espresso and wine, sounds great
@Mrs. D: good luck for your tww. I'm pretty sure I'm around the similar days but will prob test early just because.
nectarine / 2461 posts
@Kitkat: So many people say that charting is stress-inducing, but I agree with you completely. Knowing that the information is right there to confirm and time ovulation, and deciding not to use it would stress me out so much more. Guess it's just a personality thing I'm excited to look at those websites, thanks for the starter pack.
@KathrynElizabeth828:
@Mrs. D: welcome!! 1WW
My FRER yesterday was still light and took the 3 minutes to show up, today's was almost as dark as the test line and showed up immediately, so maybe it was just a really late implantation? I gather these are not supposed to be used as DIY beta testers, but it has a nice, calming effect.

@Kitkat: I find the tracking/charting to be comforting as well. The mo data, the mo bettah! It is, after all, how we finally managed to have our first. After being unsuccessful for a good while, I decided that what we were doing wasn't working, so we switched gears and tried something new (CBEFM). Two cycles later, I got pregnant with my LO.
@Mrs. D: Welcome!

@LCTBQE: Haha, that would be wonderful and pretty much what our Realtor predicted! We love our home though and probably wont sell for about 7-10 years or if DH gets a job over near Lake Travis or Dripping, that's his goal!
And positive thoughts woman!! I know its hard but that baby needs your good vibes to keep sticky!!!

@KathrynElizabeth828: I don't have any info on how it relates to fertility but i does help to super regulate AF for me and makes me feel a TON better when I stick to the plan. I do have Hashimoto's and was just diagnosed and put on thyroid meds this past Janauary so eating less gluten is very positive for me right now. I've already really cut back on caffeine too which hurts my heart I adore coffee so so much.

@Nutella: Fingers crossed for you on Monday!! How are you feeling so far? (not to make you symptom spot or anything )
@JoJoGirl: Still rooting for you girl! I know you said that you weren't hopeful because of timing but we are!!!!

I have never been this happy to get my period. A fresh cycle! Hooray!
So I expect to ovulate on Nov. 18, and will likely start testing on November 27 or sooner (I'm so bad at waiting, and I have a whole pack of cheapies).
Using OPKs and temping.
Thankful for: a million things, but in this moment (aside form my period starting), I'm thankful that after a week without hot water (we've had to boil on the stove for dishes and bathing) the plumber finally got the part in and is fixing it today. I'm going to take the longest shower ever tonight.

@mrschickpea: Aw thanks I got my crosshairs today and feeling even LESS optimistic :-\ we BDd only O-3 and O-2. Ah well.

Cycle Day: 11
TTC Cycle #: 3
Ovulation & POAS date: I think I o'ed CD9, which is very early to me. Luckily we BD'd on CD8, but I forgot to bust out my Preseed as I was thinking I didn't want to "waste" it if I wasn't expecting to O yet. Argh. POAS should be Nov 20 or 21, my cycles are about 25-26 days long lately.
Baby #: 1
Your plan this month: trying to gain weight still. Ongoing process. Adding in more milk for calories, eating tablespoons of peanut butter. Otherwise taking it easy on myself, sleep when I want to, read all day if I feel like it. Winter is coming and I feel the blues already.
For Fun: What are you thankful for this year? My husband, my cat, sunny days, my endless curiosity about life that keeps things interesting.
persimmon / 1045 posts
@LCTBQE: boom! That's great news - I bet it feels weird now but you're totally preggers!
@Silva: yay for AF!
@JoJoGirl: our timing wasn't amazing this month either! And next cycle I'm out of town for half the FW so bleh. Fingers crossed for us though
@mrschickpea: thanks dear! I feel NOTHING!!! Haha. Like literally zero symptoms. Maybe a little more tired than usual, but thats a precursor to AF so I'm totally not feeling it. Might just test earlier to get it out of the way so I'm good for a margarita tonight!
apricot / 409 posts
@Silva: Yay that AF is here and you can start anew! And glad that your hot water is fixed!
@Nutella: @JoJoGirl: Fingers crossed for you ladies!
@Bibliolove: welcome!

@mrschickpea: You think? We always aim for O-1 and O at least, so I'm trying not to feel too discouraged.

@JoJoGirl: I agree with @mrschickpea:. Still good days! Swimmers have quite the lifespan!

@kitkat: I LOVE well fed and we make the salmon cakes all the time -- easy and yummm. We freeze them to have whenever we don't feel like cooking.
@Nutella@JoJo: You're next, exciting!
JoJo maybe early BD means you're having a girl
I couldn't tell exactly when I o'd either but I think it was probably O-1 or O-2 because I was traveling.
@Silva: good news on AF! AND you get to still have POAS dates for November. I too have short cycles and we may as well love it while we are TTC right? Mine are btwn 21-25 and it's usually obnxs but now that we're TTC I don't have to wait as long.
@Mrs. D: Welcome. We are POAS buddies!

I have to add too that hugging my husband yesterday my boobs hurt so bad I pushed him away! I'll take that as a good sign! I'm a pretty bad symptom spotter lol, last month I had breast tenderness too...but not this bad?!? I don't even know if 9DPO (and that's pushing it, not pinpoint on when I actually O'ed) I'd even feel symptoms?
@teawithpaloma: welcome to the TWW!

@Nutella: @LCTBQE: @pwnstar: @flowergarden: Thank you for the welcome ladies! I'm so excited. With any luck some of us will be due date buddies soon enough.

Did I catch that some of you are in Austin? I'm just north of Austin in Williamson County.
So I got some bad news today. I have to travel for work next week!!! I hope that isn't when I O.
Grrr

@mrschickpea: I'm probably out this month - bfn at 11dpo and I just don't think it's our cycle. good luck to all the ladies testing soon though! Cheering for you

@wheres_c: Yes, I'm in Buda! I lived in Round Rock for a bit a couple years ago and loved it!!
@Nutella: Not out yet until AF shows!

@flowergarden: yum! I haven't tried those yet. The beef stew and chocolate chili are my standbys for when I want to make a big batch of something for lunches for the week on Sunday's. Now that's it's finally cooling down here I can start making them again
