Do you think in our life time we will go through a nuclear attack. I do. It shocks me that people talk so little about the real threats coming from North Korea right now. I understand there a lot of things going on in our country,but I think it is really scary.

My husband is in the military... people are not ignoring this. It's being talked about.
I cant really say much more than that other than this was expected since Kim Jong-un took power, him using military power to "prove himself" is not a surprise.

I know we r worried! My in laws are going to Korea next week. We told them to hold off but they r not listening.

@zippylef: I meant more people in the news/social media. I had a million friends talk about marriage equality (which is great), but I bet if you asked them about this they would not have any idea.
It almost makes want to become a doomsday person,lol.

Ugh...i have been following this closely. Theres not really anyone talking about it in my "circle" except for my super political family buy they are of an older generation and tend to think more global and have more experiences with nuclear issues in world affairs.

This totally freaks me out! I live in NYC, my parents live in DC -- this makes me want us all to move to the middle of nowhere. It feels safer than a big city...

@mrsmenow: lol! I have been googling underground bomb shelters like the "preppers" show folks have. I get really wigged out about the thought of a nuclear attack and what we would do to survive.

@mrsmenow: Ah, got it. The BBC has done a decent bit of coverage on the issue. I probably do know more about it because if something kicked off, it has the very real potential to affect myself and my family in a very real way. I do think that not enough people pay attention to world news.

Sadly, I think we will see one in our lifetime. The situation in NK is very concerning. I've been following it for some time now.

we are worried too. A lot of people are claiming that NK doesn't pose a serious threat... but I have a sister (and BIL) in the Navy, stationed in the pacific and i'm am very worried about them being in 'the line of fire'

considering my line of work, i feel confident in our ability to prevent and/or diffuse an attack.

I'm much more worried about terrorist cells getting dirty bomb / bio warfare / etc materials than an attack by a nation.

This scares me. To the point where I just try not to think about it. I just asked DH what was going on with North Korea. His response :uhhhhh they've been crazy for a long time.
