I love Navy blue, but it might be too dark with dark furniture. I have a boy but I found this picture, I think it is a cute scheme!

Pinterest has tons of girl nurseries with dark furniture. I personally like paler colors with dark furniture. Navy might go really dark.

@LindsayInNY: congrats on the girl!! I think dark brown furniture will be just fine for your girl. I like pink & brown together, but since you've got dark brown furniture, maybe green & pink accessories to balance out the dark brown??

@LindsayInNY: our nursery isn't huge and it feels kind of dark with the dark furniture, red, and navy. I love it but it's not for everyone.

Congrats!!!!! We have a little girl and dark brown furniture and we used pink and green! We also put up pictures with white frames to keep everything from looking too dark. We have dark hardeood floors, tan walls, white crown moulding and base boards.

@LindsayInNY: I think pastel/mint green and lavender would look gorgeous with dark wood. Also, pale pink and brown, or even baby blue with pink accents would look cute.

We have dark nursery furniture we've used for both girls. For our first daughter we did lavender and white. We did turquoise, white, and a bit of pink for our second. (The curtains, not shown, in our second daughter's room are also pink.)

Ahhhh yay!!!! We were totally convinced we were having a boy too we have espresso furniture and went with green walls and there's green and white in her bedding. It looks great together and with all her stuff in there, it looks girly, but everything was gender neutral

I like the pink and navy idea, though I'd keep the walls beige. I'd maybe add a chair rail and paint white below. Maybe a navy and white rug, white airy curtains and pink and navy accents?

Kind of like this, but pink instead of red and more feminine curtains?

I don't love the crib against the navy wall, but it might work with white on the bottom or on a different wall.

I also like the idea of beige walls with white, pale pink and gold. Couldn't find any great pics though...

Violet and turquoise are one of my favorite combos but I see it's been nixed

Gold and soft pink is another favorite of mine that goes with dark brown

@LindsayInNY: Lindsay - I don't have any great inspiration pictures because there aren't a lot of photos out there with navy and pink with espresso - most of them feature white. Although I've seen a few navy and espresso and white and if you imagine the splash of pink in there, I think it can help you visualize. Here's a couple examples of boy's rooms that could easily be made girly with a splash of pink. Also I attached one of the pieces of art we are using in our nautical themed nursery, with what it will look like when it is matted and framed in those colors.

We already had gray/beige walls and light brown carpet, so we picked Lavender, Gray, and White for her nursery. The furniture is all wood with the picture frames being white and lavender sheets/accents. Gray blackout shades from pbk.
