I live in rural Newfoundland, Canada (6 hours from the nearest mall) so I don't get to do a lot of fun in-person shopping. I mostly shop online for LO.
I'm heading to NYC (staying in the East Village) in a few weeks. What do you recommend for awesome baby stores? I want to shop like crazy!

what are you looking to buy? Buy Buy Baby is a one stop shop for most baby things, and much, much better than Babies r Us. Then there are tons of speciality stores. Giggle is in Soho, along with tons of cute (pricey) children's clothing boutiques nearby.

Definitely looking for boutique-style things that I can't find online. Clothes, fun toys, books, decorative things, etc. And most of all, I have to find that perfect 1 yo birthday dress!

Giggle also has cute stuff...I would also check out Jacadi, Petit Bateau, and Spring Flowers for clothing. Not sure how "unique" they are, however...
