I am 7 weeks pp and still bleeding. It stopped for a couple weeks them came back last week. I thought it was AF because it was bright red but it's just spotting so I am assuming it's still just pp fun. I have my pp appt on Monday.
My question , has anybody gone to the OB for your pp check while you were still bleeding? How does that work? Wouldn't you need on the table waiting for the Dr. our during the exam?

My sister went to the OB two days after giving birth and still bleeding badly for an infection. They put a towel underneath her and just did their thing.

OBs have been *everything*, they don't care about blood. Both times I've gotten Mirena inserted, my OB requested that I come in while *on* my period. If you're bleeding a lot, I would just wait until they come in to take off your pad. Otherwise, I would just mention it to the nurse and they might put an extra sheet thing under you. I wouldn't worry, either way

That's seems odd but they've seen everything so I guess it's probably normal for them. I didn't have a pp appt. is that a normal thing after a pregnancy or is it for a reason like getting on birth control or something?

At both my PP check ups (2 weeks and 6 weeks) my dr never did a pap! I kept my clothes on the whole time and she just asked me questions.

Same as @yoursilverlining: they told me to come in during my period for the mirena insertion. I think I left my underwear and pad on until the OB was ready. As pp's have said: they've seen it all!

@jh524: It's normal. Usually it is about 6 weeks pp to make sure everything has healed up corrrectly, esp if you had stitches.

During my IVF cycle I had an internal ultrasound during my period. I was embarrassed about it so I waiting until the last second to remove my underware. I did bleed a little on the table. I'm sure your doctor sees it often (mine reassured me she does), so try not to worry too much! You could always call and ask if you should reschedule too.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I wasn't concerned about a pap. I was thinking they would need to check on the episiotomy site. I would love it if I can just keep my pants on! I don't really feel like a physical exam, esp since LO will be with me.

@Mrs Hedgehog: my doctor never said anything. I had a c section and have kept thinking I can't believe they stitch you up and send you home. That's just another addition to the doubt I have for my dr.. Now...

Yup, just sat on the table and bled on the paper! Good times. They did send me for an ultrasound after because they were concerned that I was still bleeding at 6 or 8 weeks after my csection, can't remember.
Sounds messy, I know, but they've seen it all! I'm sure you could leave your underwear/pad on and slip them off when the doctor starts the exam.
