I'm looking to get a few dresses for LO for the upcoming holiday season, but don't know where to shop. Most of our usual stops (Target, Gymboree, Carters) seem a bit too casual for what we're looking for.

I love Janie & Jack if I can afford a splurge. I think when the holidays are closer, there are more special pieces even at your regulars. I have a Jason Wu for Target dress I got from last season's collection that was so adorable!

@littlek: I have! I might actually get her Christmas dress from J&J, but can't justify the cost of getting multiple dresses there to carry us through the season. Unless of course, they're on sale - I'm cheap!

For fancy I always consignment shop. Kids usually just wear those dresses once or twice, so they look brand new and I don't have to pay a lot for a dress lo will only wear a couple of times.

Have you tried Cassie's Closet (online)? I went down the rabbit hole there in the last couple of days! They have lots of baby coture designers that they feature.

Sometimes department stores are good places for special things. In Canada, the Bay is a good place to look.

@deerylou: Gymboree's dressy holiday lines are set to come out September 23rd.
Look on eBay. People sell brand new special occasion dresses and stuff all the time for cheap.
