@Torchwood: I never noticed a difference. But I don't rely that strongly on opks. Once I see the line is getting darker or get a smiley, we just get busy for the next few days. So I usually just test once.
Good to see you back here

@Tidybee: DH and I dtd like 5-6 hours after the positive opk so could have been okay ish timing? DH hasn't been feeling well, so that was the only time we dtd in my FW. Not feeling really hopeful by any means but just feels good to be back in the game after being out for 4 months. Thanks for the help!

@Tidybee: Thanks. For what it's worth, I'm not 100% back yet, but I've been stalking the POAS threads because I still like seeing the positives. We're hoping to start trying again in December, but my cycles haven't settled yet so we'll see. Hence the OPK's, to see when/if I'm ovulating.

Well, DH had SA #2 and this one was "mostly normal with just slightly reduced motility" (dr's words). Which is great but super confusing - why would one be SO bad and the second one be mostly fine? DH talked to the doctor (and I love DH but he is not good with asking a lot of questions/following up), and he told me that the doctor told him he wasn't sure why. I would have pushed a lot harder for an explanation.
I also got a + OPK on Friday so we did DTD on Friday night (after DH did his SA in the a.m.) - but I can't imagine anything will happen this cycle.
We may try to make a follow up appt with the doctor to discuss the SA results because I just feel like I need more information.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@MrsADS: That would be super frustrating. I would almost want the second doctor to send the results to the first doctor to see what gives.

I think I might be out this month. 11dpo and I am definitely spotting. AF is due Wednesday but this is typically how it starts.

Wow! 400+ posts... too late to join? We will be POAS this month, we just started TTC.
ETA- we aren't using any OPK's/temping etc. I have a period tracker that loosely tells me when I should be fertile. FX

Better late than never! We're all friendly here.

@simplyfelicity: I have not tested yet, was waiting for a missed AF. I guess I'll wait and see.

You're not out til you're out, Bluemasonjar.
I don't know much about it, but isn't implantation bleeding supposed to happen around the same time, or slightly before, an expected period?
I'll cross my fingers for you!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@Bluemasonjar: I totally understand. After my first loss (a CP) I don't test early. Best wishes!
@Reese: Never! There are a few of us on here who are in between TTC and NTNP, too.

Hopefully I'm O-ing TODAY if the opks are right... will hopefully confirm with FF in the next three days or so. Looks like a transfer happening later this week, so maybe we'll squeeze into an October POAS thread after all!!

@Mrs. Microscope: Thanks for the support! Sorry for the late response. We were away for the weekend and my cold turned into a respiratory infection... I'm in the TWW and glad we can stop BDing!

In the same boat as @Reese. Kind of winging it - no charting or opk's (yet), loosely tracking fertility at the moment, & waiting to see if AF shows in a few days.

@travellingbee: You are certainly a trooper! Good job keeping up the BDing while sick. Hope you get better soon!

Cycle Day: 24
TTC Cycle #: 3 ish
Ovulation and POAS dates: I'm 4 DPO so should be POAS on 10/24
Baby #: 2
Your plan this month: trying to figure out wonky cycleS!
Hi all! I'm a lurker who finally is deciding to join in (and that some of the Oct magic will rub in!).
I'm on cycle 3 of attempting to conceive LO 2 and my body is playing crazy tricks on me. I'm typically very regular, 28-30 day cycles with O on cd14-16. However my la st 2 cycles have been so odd. Aug and Sept gave me a 45 day cycles which I assumed would be a one off, maybe an anovulatory cycle, but this current cycle I also O'd v later than normal. I can't attribute it to stress as I'm not really (apart from TTC stress!). I just think it's typical that the second we get serious trying to conceive is the second my body is playing tricks on me! I'm hoping this cycle is the one though, apart from the extra long wait to O, I think we had good timing O, O-1/3/5.
Excited to be joining in! Fx to all!

Officially in my Tww. AF is due 10/28. We Bd two days before ovulation and the day I ovulated. I'm hoping these two weeks go by super fast!

@AMommyThang: so exciting!!
I should add that AF is due Oct 23rd... So how soon could I test? Patience isn't a virtue I possess.

We decided to officially give TTC one more shot this month, so today is CD10 and we're back at it with EOD BD and OPKs. Feels like just yesterday I was freaking out about the cycle of a million blinking smileys, haha. I am hopeful as always that this will be our month, but if not, I'm also really looking forward to take a month off. TTC can get so draining & hard, it will be good to get a break.

Last night I was feeling sick and my mom (who doesn't know we are TTC) turned to me and said "Are you pregnant?"
So of course I had to test this morning at 9dpo and got a BFN. I know it was way too early, but I has my hopes up a little bit from feeling sick and from her comment!
Also totally afraid I jinxed myself now...
clementine / 912 posts
@angelachase: Good luck with the BDing. I quit the CBE opk and am just using wondfos this time. So much easier to read the lines than seeing day after day of flashing smiley faces.
nectarine / 2148 posts
@mrs scrapbook: It is still really early. I don't think you jinxed yourself. Maybe your mom just as super powers!
apricot / 375 posts
@Eko: Thanks! I hope she does have super powers. I was having tons of symptoms (soreness, cramping) until 7dpo, then they went away and 7 and 8 dpo I woke up feeling great and was super sick/tired by the end of the day. With her comment added in, I can't help but read into it!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@mrs scrapbook: Lol I don't think you jinxed yourself! Testing will not make you "unpregnant," nor does it have any outcome on what will happen. 9DPO is still very early. I didn't get my bfp until the day AF was due on 12DPO. Hold out hope!
pomelo / 5791 posts
@mrs scrapbook: Moms know these things! My mom knew before I told her, and I told her on the DAY I got my BFP with DS. FX!
grapefruit / 4355 posts
@mrs scrapbook: Although she didn't say anything, my MIL suspected I was pregnant before I was able to get my BFP. I stayed home from work one day during the TWW because I wasn't feeling the greatest and we met her for lunch. Sometimes I think moms can just tell these things!
apricot / 375 posts
@dc yoga bee: Thank you! I know it can't undo anything, or make anything happen that didn't, but I got myself all worked up! I'm definitely holding out hope. 12dpo we are going for dinner and a concert with my parents, I'd love to have some news to tell them! Of course, we are visiting them right now, so I'll see them every night until Saturday!
@ValentineMommy: That is so awesome! I'm hoping she just knows - I'll definitely tell her the day I get mine too! There is no hiding anything from her. Especially this week, since we are visiting/staying with them until Saturday morning!
@Mrs.KMM: I hope so! I wonder how they just know these things though...whatever it is, someone should make it into an early pregnancy test!

@ValentineMommy: My spotting over the weekend was quickly followed by an early AF. I am definitely out for this month, on to November. to everyone
