Ok-- so a few days ago I said I was going to POAS strictly for fun but now I think I might actually have a shot (albeit a long shot) this month so thought I should circle back with my other "stats."

    Cycle Date: 16
TTC Cycle: 1 (although I'd say we are actually somewhere between NTNP and TTC)
O date: Not entirely sure but likely in the 9/26-9/28 range
    POAS date: 10/9
Baby #: 2 (DD just turned to 2)
Plan for this month: No plan. This is the first monthy we've "pulled the goalie" (on purpose) for #2! I've been ready for several months but it has taken DH some time to get there so we are not jumping in to actively TTC just yet. However, it seems like we've had some good timing (despite colds this week!) so I'm thinking it's not totally out of the question. We had really good luck with conceving DD but I'm trying not to get my hopes up since it may not work out that way this time around.

Big hellos & to everyone who's joined us this month. <fx> for everyone!

For once I really disagree with FF. It think I'm 5dpo, and I think I'm only 3dpo? My last opk on the chart is listed as "-", but it was pretty dark (just slightly lighter than the day before...). What do you guys think?

@Hoots: Thanks for the insight. Going to be a very awkward experience. Hopefully will be worth it in the end.

@Tam: The pap smear shouldn't be painful at all. There will be a little pressure from the speculum but it isn't bad at all. Pap smears are pretty quick and easy.

@ballerinabee: I'm pretty new to charting myself but I'd guess (based on temps) that you ovulated on the 18th and not the 16th.

This cycles TWW has by far been my slowest yet (I'm 8 DPO now). And I feel like I am symptom spotting like crazy which is so not normal for me.

Between falling asleep on the couch at 8:30pm (when I normally go to bed around midnight) yet not being able to sleep well when I actually move to my bed to having awful gas (smells way worse than normal too) and having a random sore throat/stuffy nose with a ton of excess mucous but no feeling of actually being sick - Gah! It is going to be a battle to not test before this weekend, I think.

ETA: Oh - and I think I am having a lower tolerance to alcohol too which I've read can be an early pregnancy symptom. I'm a believer in "drink til its pink" and had a couple of drinks on both Friday and Saturday and I felt like they hit me way more than a couple of drinks normally would. I thought it was just a fluke on Friday but then the same thing happened on Saturday too.

@Tam: I find pap smears to be a little uncomfortable just when they swab (a little electrical feeling discomfort), but nothing terrible.
    @AMommyThang: welcome &
@Mrs.KMM: Thanks, that's what I think too. I'm a symptom over-analyzer too, so I feel your pain. I think all of yours are good signs, so <fx> for you!

It now appears that AF is here. Silver lining is at least my cycles are getting shorter to 30 days instead of 40ish.

    Cycle Day: CD2
    TTC Cycle #:3
Ovulation and POAS dates: I'm guessing O will be around CD14 and I'll POAS 10/23 before a weekend trip to visit my family.
    Baby #:2
Your plan this month: EOD from CD10 and using regular OPKs since CB drove me crazy last month
    Chart link: n/a

    nectarine / 2641 posts

    Cycle Day: 18
TTC Cycle #: 1 after miscarriage at 8 weeks, I don't know what that makes my official cycle #
Ovulation and POAS dates: I o'd on CD 14, and am trying to hold out to POAS at 9dpo on 10/4.
    Baby #:2
Your plan this month: We bd O-4, O-2, and O.
Chart link: I can't temp because my toddler doesn't sleep, haha. I loved temping for my first pregnancy, though, and for my miscarriage cycle (he was sleeping better then).

@JennyG: Ugh, that sucks! Does that mean you never got a solid smiley? I am kinda wondering if I actually am having a non-O cycle.....I had the solid smiley on Saturday morning but still haven't had a temp rise.

@marionberry: Thanks! I feel really good about this month but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much with all of my symptom spotting and such!

Oh man! Symptom spotting in full effect over here at 5dpo! Gassy and light cramps... But it is probably all in my head! I spent about an hour looking at wondfo 8dpo bfps in anticipation for Thursday and they are so light! Also, only about 13% of bfps are detectable by 8dpo. While I don't expect a bfp before next Tuesday I am still excited at the prospect of getting one early! I am crazy like that

  18. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@Mrs. Microscope: I am in the same boat. I am about 7-8dpo and historically I have only gotten a very light BFP the night before missed af. I have been getting wicked irritable, which is very unlike me. I am promising myself not to symptom spot, but that's all I do. haha.

  19. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@Mrs. Microscope: Haha! I totally hear you! I'm at 8 DPO now and I had told myself that I wasn't aloud to test until I am actually late. But I keep sitting here thinking about how early I can test without running the risk of it just being too early to see a positive!

If I can hold out until this weekend like I am supposed to (or at least late this week), we may end up POAS around the same time. FX for both of us!

@Mrs. Microscope: @Mrs.KMM: @Eko: yup -7(ish) DPO and today and yesterday I was just "off". Cramps, backache, tired. I know its too early and I totally don't think we had good timing, but I'm so symptom spotting!

  21. Mrs. Microscope

    pear / 1788 posts

@Eko: @Mrs.KMM: @hellobeeboston: I totally wouldn't test as early as 8dpo but I am working at Great American Beer Festival this weekend and kinda want to know what I can get away with! Not planning to get trashed but at least sample a few beers as long as each days tests are negative. I won't be bummed until next Tuesday by bfns!

Glad you ladies are sharing in the insanity!

@Eko: @Mrs.KMM: @hellobeeboston @mrs. Microscope: I am in the same boat at 5dpo. I want to test early and I have no self-control when it comes to these pregnancy tests. This month I bought some early, but then had my husband hide them. I won't buy more because I already have them and I can't take them early because he won't cough them up till this weekend. Even then it is a little early at 11 dpo, but I got my + with my DD then.

  23. JennyG

    clementine / 912 posts

@angelachase: I never did get a solid smiley. I started using CB opk on CD17 since my cycle before was 38 days. We also BDed almost everyday for 2 weeks which seem to not have been during peak time at all. I think I'm going to stuck to regular opk starting on CD10 this cycle and see what's what. Hope your temp goes up tomorrow!!

Hi everyone! First timing joining in on this!
    CD: 24
TTC Cycle: In baby making mode since April and have had 1 m/c and 2 c/p's since then.
Ovulation and POAS dates: Solid smiley on 9/24, POAS 10/9
    Baby #2
Your plan this month: Only BD on night of O and night after O so not sure timing was great. First month on progesterone supplements and they're so not fun..

@ValentineMommy: I O'd later than usual this month, so FF is showing 10/10 as my POAS date. I'll probably take some cheapies earlier than that, but do you mind moving me on your next update?

4dpo here, and of course symptom spotting (you are not alone, @Mrs. Microscope: @Mrs.KMM: @Eko: @hellobeeboston:). I have that metallic taste in my mouth, have been somewhat constipated since Sunday night, wine definitely went to my head quickly last night, so tired by 3pm I could nap standing up... But no, not obsessing at all over here. Nope. Not even a little bit.

  28. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@ballerinabee: @Mrs. Microscope: @Eko: @hellobeeboston: I woke up this morning to So Much Drool! So I guess I can add excessive salivation to my symptom spotting.

I did decide this morning that I'm going to allow myself to test guilt-free on Friday morning (the 3rd - 12 DPO) because DH is going to be out of town from Saturday-Tuesday so if I can get an early positive, I can share it with him before he leaves.

  29. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@Mrs.KMM: I am crazy symptom spotting. Lots of gas and constipation this am, and I am like 'oh great!' but then I really think about it and then I'm like that's gross. haha.

I am thinking about testing early on Friday too, because if I get a BFP then I get to go in to the dr. to start beta testing right away and I would likely be annoyed if I saw a BFP on Saturday and had to wait until Monday. But Friday will be about 12dpo and I have gotten really faint positives on those days, but I only have one frer. Not too sure what to do.

  30. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@Eko: I have one FRER left too but I'll just buy another one if Friday ends up still showing a BFN. I also have a box with 2 digitals (mainly because once I see what looks like a positive FRER, I want to see the word "Pregnant" on a test). But I figure the FRER is my best bet for actually being able to potentially see a positive on Friday at 12 DPO.

  31. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@Mrs.KMM: Let's me real, I think I will end up likely testing on Friday and seeing how it goes and buy more over the weekend if necessary. The FRER's are definitely a better option than the digitals. Also, the digitals for me ended up picking up my early m/c then the FRER's did.

  32. Mrs.KMM

    grapefruit / 4355 posts

@Eko: Sorry to hear about your loss. Is that why you're going to go in and get betas started once you see a BFP at home?

  33. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@Mrs.KMM: Yup! I have had two m/c in the past year so I went and saw a specialist who put me on clomid and progesterone, but I am taking a month off this month. I can get back on the progesterone immediately if I get a BFP. If I get a BFP then I get a lot of good stuff, which includes lots of betas and early u/s.

@hellobeeboston: DH thinks I'm a little crazy with the symptom spotting. He thinks it is too early to have anything actually related to a pregnancy. Glad you guys understand!

Trying not to freak out too much, but I am 99% positive I had some implantation bleeding. My cycles are so regular that i doubt it can be related to AF.

@Mrs. Microscope: TWW is the worst! Good luck to you!

I'm right there with you ladies on the symptom spotting. Today the chicken tenders for the kid's lunches smelt amazing. So did the dorritos one of the girl's brought in for snack. Also my kitchen smells like something died in there. I usually can hardly smell anything.
I've been having some mild on and off cramping for the past day or two and I haven't been sleeping very well since O. So my temping has been horrible. Also I've had a weird muccus-y not quite sick throat thing.

I'm determined not to POAS before my expected AF on Friday. I might even try to wait till after school on Friday. Luckily I have class after school tomorrow, then my MIL is coming over. Then on Thursday we have PT conferences in the evening. I just need to keep myself busy. And get rid of all the bad smells.

I'm so excited for all of us! Sounds like everyone's symptom spotting is pointing towards lots of little pumpkins this month!

Still cramping at 6dpo, and headachey today as well! Also had some EWCM today, whatever that means.

I sure hope I get a bfp, just so I don't feel like an idiot doing all this symptom spotting!

SO EXCITED for October tomorrow... Netflix will have Gilmore Girls, so there goes my day! Planning to get some Starbucks Pumpkin Spice (so bad, but so good! AND DECAF!) and snuggle up on the couch!
