@MrsKoala: yes they are the new curved FRER. I used one with my last pregnancy and it was the same level of darkness as the old style flat ones. But these ones are obviously way off.

@Nutella: thanks. I called the doctor right away. My hCG came back at 227.9. So its ridiculous that the FRER aren't showing positive in the 3 minute time frame. I probably will email the company about it actually. However my progesterone was only 12.4. My last pregnancy it was 11.9 and they started me on progesterone supps. With my son it was 24. I haven't heard if they want me to start progesterone this time yet.

@BandDmommy: @marley: @starlitsky: @Purpledaisy: @Alba4: thanks everyone. I'm excited and nervous. And obviously in disbelief.

Just got my solid smiley face! Hopefully it's accurate since I tested in the PM. My TWW officially begins tomorrow!

@Dr. Pepper: congrats! looks positive to me too! That's so weird with the FRERS. Maybe they're not as sensitive as they used to be.

    @marley: Yay for solid smiley!!

I'm buying my ovulation tests for when AF stops, I'm basically going to take them every day for a month to try and figure things out lol.
But, I'm not really sure what kind I should get. I have the easy @ home pregnancy tests so I was thinking of getting the 50 O + 20 HPT pack, or the very generic Carchet O+ HPT pack. There's like a $20 difference between the two and I don't want to 'cheap out' but if the cheap ones work just as well I'd rather go that route.
What do you all think? Experiences?

So...I'm not sure what's going on. AF arrived 4-5 days late over a week ago and I have been bleeding since; mostly red but now brown blood. On a whim I took a hpt today because it seemed a bit abnormal to bleed for so long. The 2nd line showed up straight away.

I'm guessing because I bled so much that it was a chemical pregnancy/miscarriage/whatever. Anyone know how long after it took for their hcg levels to return to normal?

  14. BandDmommy

    pomelo / 5660 posts

@illumina: hmm no idea. Are you sure it's not breakthrough bleeding/implantation bleeding?

  15. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@BandDmommy: well it almost resembled a period, only a bit lighter than usual but usually I bleed for only 2-3 days so bleeding for over 7 days seemed weird.

  16. BandDmommy

    pomelo / 5660 posts

@illumina: I have never had miscarriage so no idea. Can you call your OB and request betas? That might answer some questions.

  17. Applesandbananas

    @BandDmommy: I thought you'd had two between D and #3?

  18. BandDmommy

    pomelo / 5660 posts

@Applesandbananas: I honestly don't believe they were actual pregnancies. I think they were Evaps. I have heard lots of stories of Evaps since then on FRER.

@illumina: I'd test again and maybe talk to your doctor to be sure. When I had a chemical pregnancy, the tests went from positive to negative before my period and period started 2 days late, but otherwise normal.

@illumina: with my third I had bleeding heavy enough to convince me I had had a period. 5-6 days, bleeding through pads... Nothing abnormal. I went for a dating scan and was a month more pregnant than I thought. Call your doctor and get a scan if you can. My test was also fairly light. Good luck!

@illumina: I'd call the doctor and see what they say. hopefully the bleeding was just implantation bleeding or something. Fx for you!!

  22. marley

    kiwi / 706 posts

@illumina: good luck! hoping its implantation.

  23. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@oliviaoblivia: did you ever find out a reason for it? I'm kind of convinced this is not going to turn out as well for me but I will definitely see what the doctor has to say.

I just peed on the 2nd stick in the box later tonight, still positive...just feel pretty sad right now because after trying for 6 months for #2, at some point this month I was pregnant again

  24. BandDmommy

    pomelo / 5660 posts

@illumina: Fingers crossed implantation or breakthrough bleeding!

  25. Torchwood

@illumina: I understand if you'd prefer not to get your hopes up, but many women do have bleeding during early pregnancy that turns out fine. SCH's (subchorionic hematoma, I think) and vanishing twins can cause it, among other things. Bleeding is definitely a sign that a pregnancy is less likely to make it, but it's not an automatic out. I would contact your doctor. At the very least you want a m/c on record, because you have to have multiples before insurance will cover testing, so you want them all to "count." Sending you lots of hugs and positive thoughts!

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@illumina: I didn't. By the time I tested over a month had passed and there was no evidence of anything during my scan. I'm 27 weeks now with a healthy pregnancy. Hoping for the best for you.

@WinterBee: no advice but I'm planning to take the same approach!

So AF is about 3.5 weeks late! Only DTD once prior due to travel so very unlikely to be pregnant - just a wacky cycle.
Super frustrated because I really want to get started already...plus now it will probably come while I'm on my cruise vacay.

If it's not come by the time I come back I'm going to get acupuncture.
I tested, and got a BFN.

    So frustrating

@WinterBee: oh and I bought the bottom "cheap ones" they seem to be working perfectly fine giving me negatives!

    kiwi / 633 posts

@illumina: Definitely talk to your doctor! I would have expected tests to be coming up negative at this point as well. Fingers crossed for you.

@WinterBee: unfortunately you can roll me over, AF showed up today @runnerd: I'm bummed we won't be in the same due date group again.

@illumina no experience in this personally, but I've seen a couple of pregnancy charts that had faux-periods early on, and definitely heard of them from friends. fingers crossed for you

@marley what's the difference between the flashing smiley face and the solid smiley face with the advanced CBE tests? sounds promising over there!

@WinterBee I don't know those brands (maybe Canada/U.S. difference?), but I do like those cheapo sticks compared with the much-more-expensive digital ClearBlue Easy sticks because you can see the gradation of color/LH buildup, which is encouraging. Incidentally, I just had a surge yesterday (finally), but it was like 80% there but not totally there--now it's back to blank. I think my body maybe tried to ovulate but didn't quite get there, but I'll be able to confirm with temping. Sometimes you can still successfully O without registering a true "positive" on those tests, I hear. Anyway, it's less depressing than seeing a total blank, which is why I'm excited for you to start using them Would you mind moving me to November? At this point I'm not going to be POAS in October either way.

Happy Sunday, everyone! I think winter has arrived in NYC. Wool coats are out on the street in full force.

@thismustbetheplace @wheres_c oy, I'm sorry. see you in November

  36. LCTBQE

    nectarine / 2461 posts

@WinterBee also how ridiculous/hilarious is that packaging? I would use them for that reason alone.

  37. marley

    kiwi / 706 posts

@LCTBQE: flashing smiley is high fertility and solid is peak fertility. It means ovulation will happen in 24-36 hours or something.

@LCTBQE: haha I agree, that packaging is perfect 😂 while you guys are cracking out the winter coats it is getting warmer and sunnier each day here!

ETA: & see you on November boards! I might be taking a more chillaxed approach though, I'm not sure I can handle too much heavy disappointment in this space, you know?
