Our house is 84 years old and I never noticed how squeaky the floors are until I had a newborn who could hear a pin drop!
We've been intentionally stepping on the creaks when she's awake or when putting her to sleep, hoping then while she's sleeping she won't notice them so much. It's seriously every step in our home! I love our old home, but those with newer homes are lucky in this respect!
Do your floors squeak too?

Yes! I don't think our house is that old but we do have squeaky wooden floors. They seem so loud in the middle of the night...

We have an old home too. White noise. I wish I hadn't resisted it for so long.

Yep ours do a little. He used to be such a light sleeper but has slowly gotten better and deeper, thank goodness!

This is my life! House is 90 years old. I'm learning the creaky ones so I can avoid them when she's napping.

Even with the white noise I get SO stressed about the squeaky floors in our old house. When M was a newborn DH put a small rug outside her room 'cause he thought it would help the squeaking. I swear it made it worse. I had to get up at 5am for work today and I'm pretty sure those squeaky floors woke her up

Yes! I didn't realize how creaky our flora were until we had a baby. When we replaced the flooring this spring, DH & my dad secured the subfloor so now it doesn't creak. Whew!
But now we notice the doors. Ugh, the doors! They're suddenly so loud. And our feet sound loud on the hardwood. And the cupboards slam. And the toilet flushes too loud.
It's a never ending battle
