I'm watching....but have only made it through episode 2 and don't want to see spoilers! It's Sooooo good so far!

We finished episode 11 last night so two more left! It was a crazy episode
and I hear the final ones are insane. A bit of a slow build this season but I'm dying to go home and watch the last two!

I agree with the slow build- I'm on episode 3 and I could take it or leave it, which is NOT how I felt during first 3 seasons!

@LulaBee: Agree with the take it or leave it! DH and I loved the first 3 seasons and I'm not feeling this one as much. I think we are on episode 5.
All the story lines seem a bit dull thus far. Piper and the panty competitors, crazy Lolly and the dead guy. Mrs. King. Meh. I hope it picks up in the second half of the season!

I will say overall this season is so DARK compared to others. NO more light weight humor just dark and creepy, really good but in a different way. -

Just finished and I have never had this many emotions over a TV show. Or maybe ever. THE FEELS!
It has gotten exponentially better every season. I can't wait for next season!

I'm not sure how to feel about what happened.

Am I supposed to feel like it was an accident and sorry for the guard or am I supposed to feel like he is the enemy? Ahh so conflicted!

@TrailRunner: I felt like it was tragic for all involved. If it was ANY other guard I would feel like he was the villan, but because it was that one, I can't help but have tremendous sympathy for him. I do feel like he should not have had his hand on her neck but with all the adrenaline I could also see how it was an honest mistake. In the real world I do think he would be charged, right?
Ugh!! so many feels.

This season was so good and so sad. I really don't know how to feel about the guard either. He was the only good one and I really think it was an accident... but still! It should never have happened.

See at first I thought it was Suzanne's fault bc she kept jumping on him and making him push her into the ground. Now I'm not so sure bc they made him out to be be bad guy at the end. At the same time tho he is SUCH a nice guy!

@TrailRunner: For me, the message was that it is the system, not individuals. It was heartbreaking that it was the "nice guard" but it seems to me they did that on purpose to show exactly what Caputo told him just hours before. He told him the system was going to ruin him and he was right. It's not that he's not responsible but it is so much bigger than him.
The whole episode was so well done with how they showed that the guard and Washington had made similar choices (him trespassing by climbing the water tower, smoking pot, egging houses, her also smoking pot and trespassing), but because of their difference in privilege, he got away with it and it ended up costing Washington her life.
@ms. pug: In the real world he probably would not be charged and if he were he would get off. Which is the whole point that the show was trying to make - drawing very close parallels to recent events and the Black Lives Matter movement.
Oh, and Suzanne just breaks my heart so much because she is so innocent but she continues to be in situations where she unintentionally hurts others. The little boy (OMG), her friends when V was manipulating her, her love interest and then Washington. Because of her special needs / differences, she clearly is just a victim. Again, this season did an amazing job showing that it's not about individuals but the system.

@daniellemybelle: the little boy got me. I completely missed how Washington ended up in prison. I saw the episode, but I guess I missed what she actually did. It took me an entire day to watch that episode bc my 8 week old was being a beast that day. I should go back and rewatch it.

@TrailRunner: Definitely re-watch it! The whole flashback that takes place in the last episode is the night that leads up to Washington getting arrested (she is in prison for trespassing and possession with intent to sell).

Towards the end, I was like "OMG, I have tears running down my face over a PRISON TV SHOW!" I think this was the best season yet. So many unanswered questions. Poor Crazy Eyes is really just mentally unstable as a character!
There was so much play on emotions--the flashbacks with Baxter the guard or whatever his name is, to build up his character that he is a good guy--especially when Caputo gave him the speech to get out of the job because it ruins you. And of course the back story on Washington too, where she was a wrong-place, wrong-time, ended-up-in-prison and now she's dead.
Plus, I cannot wait to see where next season goes with Daya at the end. Her mom was so afraid she would ruin her life! Will she shoot the guard? Let it go? You know she wants to be a big bad ass and make a point to the other girls.

@TrailRunner: They mention it when they're trying to "spin" what happened. They say something like "she's in here for light possession, good kid, family is military" and then they point the finger at the guard.

I just finished the season. Washington...I was sobbing alone on my couch. She was one of my favorite favorite characters.
Such an intense season! I hate that we have to wait a whole year now.
