Did Old Navy change its return policy? Just read on their site it is 45 days from day of purchase??? I could have sworn I waited much longer than that to return stuff in the past. This makes me nervous. I bought a lot of stuff over the holidays that either don't fit or just don't look good, and haven't a chance to go return them yet. Heck, some are still in an unopened box received a week ago. Ahh!!

I think that happened many years ago, I looked up an article that said the return policy changed to 45 days in 2009. I only remember because they didn't publicize it and I got burned trying to return stuff that was older than that!

I just returned a bunch of stuff from October there a couple weeks ago. I defiantly didn't know that and they had no issue returning the stuff i had! (and it was summer clothes!)

I was searching around, and I read something on facebook from 2013, it says online purchases have 45 days to return, in-store purchases have 90 days.

Yeah, it's 45 days for online purchases. However, I've complained to managers before in both Gap and Old Navy about it and they've taken the returns even though I was over 45 days (but still within their 90 day in store purchase policy).

Hmm.. sometimes stores extend the return period around the holidays so hopefully you are still in the clear! I used to work for Gap and I know that its tough on the stores when stuff gets returned after too long because they refund what you paid and then often have to put it directly on clearance based on current selling price. (Not that they aren't making tons of money on the markup to begin with...but you know what I mean.)

@Snowybreeze: This just happened to me yesterday! I had no idea, and I was 60 days past the order date. Even though I had my receipt, they would only give me the current selling price for my items. And, I will be getting a check in the mail (!!!!), only redeemable in-store. Luckily, my items were roughly the same price as what I paid for them, so I just returned them. What a pain, though! I do most of my shopping online, so it's annoying that I can only use my credit in-store.

Really? I thought it was 90 days. I just double ordered a bunch of things for my girls (same items in multiple sizes to see what fits best), so I'll have to be careful to get it back in the right return window!

We went to return the items this past weekend. Happy to report no problems at all! I've been doing this forever, I started shopping at Old Navy for my daughter since 2013 and had always use this location to return items. It was only recently I decided to read their return policy that freaked me out. The phrase holds true here "somethings are better unknown" lol. That said, I can't say for sure for all locations since some of you did mention they would give you a hard time. Also, I had one item that I bought in Sept 2015 and did not have the packing slip anymore, she said it would show up if I swiped my CC, but it didn't. So she said she can give me the lowest price which was $1.15. No thanks lol. So i asked if i could show her the email confirmation. She looked at it, gave me a refund of $16 but had to be a mail check. I'll update again when I receive that check!

I went to Old Navy a couple days after I saw this thread and also had no trouble returning my huge bag of Black Friday stuff. Looks like the policy is 90 days. Glad it worked out, because I felt confident enough to scoop up a bunch more stuff in the insane clearance sale they had last week, knowing I could return anything I don't love.

@PawPrints: glad you could return your stuff! Their return policy clearly states 45 days for online purchases, so I think we may still run into someone who will give you a hard time on a bad day.

@pachamama: I have returned items that were over 60 days on multiple occasions. On their website it states up to 45 days. Honestly, I never knew it was 45 days until I decided to read the terms one day...some things better unknown lol. Give it a try. Don't mention anything to the cashier. Some of them don't even know the terms themselves. And some do, but would offer to you other options like receive a check for the item of current value.
I don't find their quality control to be the best, so it's not surprising!
