Looking for reviews on your experience with Orangetheory?
I am trying to find a workout I can do once I am cleared by my Dr - I think I need a little more structure so I am thinking of adding a class like this.
Did you like it? Did you see results?

@Mrs D: I went there for a year. I liked that they told you exactly what to do.
However, I never saw any changes to my body.
In January of this year I quit going and did a Beachbody workout at home for 60 days and lost weight and inches.
thoughts:
1) I didn't watch my diet while going to OTF and I should have - totally blame that on not seeing results
2) loved being able to see my heart rate on the big screen and know if I was pushing hard enough
3) I much prefer weights to the 30 mins of running at OTF
4) Its pretty $$
5) trainers were young and had smoking hot bods - haha - nice to look at while exercising =)

@Mamaof2: Woah...they have you run for 30 mins? Which Beach Body did you do? 21DF? I have the DVDs for that...I just struggle sometimes to commit...I was thinking to $$ investment of signing up for OTF would encourage me to go...

My friend does it and loves it. She's early 40s and has a body of a 25 year old. She eats well too though. She goes early in the morning before taking her daughter to school.

@Mrs D: OTF its a 60 min program
You either start on the treadmill or on the floor doing weights. Your runs are done in 3 phases, base, push and all-out
I am not a runner per say so I did 5mph as base, 6.5 for push and 8 for all out runs
You might do a 3 min push, walk for 30 seconds then repeat then do a 1 min all out. Its different every single day.
There are also water rowers - they are mixed in with treadmills and floor work.
I highly suggest you go try a session - ours has them for free

@Mamaof2: Ok - I was nervous it was like paying for a 60 min class where 30 straight minutes were running!
I can do interval running...but at 6w pp the idea of a 30 minute run makes me want to vomit!
I havent done Hammer and Chisel but I loved the 21DF workouts...

@Mrs D: I LOVE OrangeTheory and am saving up so I can go back after I have the baby. It's amazing. Everyone works on their own level, the trainers are super encouraging and nice, and while I didn't lose weight, I did get stronger and lose some inches. My running splits really improved in my race training. I suggest trying it once. I was hooked.

@avivoca: Good input! I'll definitely try the class...
As with DD1...the weight is just not coming off post partum...I am so jealous of the ladies who just "shed weight breastfeeding"...I wish I was so lucky!!!
I have 30-40lbs to lose...so as long as I keep my eating in check I think any workout routine will be beneficial!

@Mrs D: I went 1-2 times a week and saw a difference. I work a lot of nights and just can't get up to work out at 5 am or I would have gone more.
