So we ordered our glider/ottoman on Saturday, from Buy Buy Baby. We got the Kallina glider from Best Chairs and the matching Rena ottoman -- navy cotton upholstery with white piping. It's so cushy and comfortable! It should be here in 4-6 weeks, so exciting! I'm trying to get started on the nursery early (I'm 19 weeks) because there is still SO much to do.
What was the first big thing you bought for the nursery, and when?

we bought our chair from buy buy baby too... unfortunately, we are still waiting for it to come in 8 weeks later!!!.... they told us 8-12 though~ so they're not late yet

@Coco Bee: Yeah it was funny because I tried every single chair and either I didn't like it because the ottoman didn't glide, or the seat wasn't deep enough, or the chair was too hard... then the Kallina was just right but I was like, oh I don't like the arms as much. DH was like dude, are you serious? Why does it matter? And he was right -- it doesn't lol. But they do have the comfiest chairs ever!

@ladyfingers: they are!! I've had mine about 9 months and I sit in it every day. I actually keep it in the living room, it's less a baby rocking chair as I use it all the time!! haha
we're moving though and I think we'll have to put it in his room because the livingroom won't be big enough for it. boo!!
yeah now I swear by this brand though.. sooo comfortable. I had awful sciatica so we got it a few months before his arrival and it's all that I sat in. it's perfect.

How exciting. My first big purchase was a glider and crib ordered from BBB. I got the Little Castle Blake glider. Love it so much. It's good you ordered it now. Mine took almost 12 weeks to come in, and I was happy that I had ordered it around 18/19 weeks.

First thing we ordered was the glider!!!
Sadly, we are STILL waiting for it. It is supposed to be here this week. We ordered from BBB, they told us 12 weeks and we are at around 14/15 weeks now, grr.

Nice! The first thing that was purchased for our nursery was a crib. It was a surprise birthday present to me from my in-laws. We just picked up the matching glider last week. The set is from Target.

Congrats on your glider purchase, can't wait to see what the nursery looks like when it comes together! Too funny that you just posted this... I just got a call that our glider finally came in so we're excited to pick it up this week. That was our first big purchase but the last one to arrive of course!

We just ordered our crib and dresser this weekend! We tried to order our glider/ottoman, but it was discontinued - boo! Now we're on the hunt for a new one.

Exciting! Your nursery is on its way! We just bought a glider yesterday that we found on Craigslist. It's a barely used Dutailier with the matching ottoman.

Yay! Our first (and only so far) purchase was a dresser (on sale from Ikea). Planning on getting the crib this month and then a rocking chair next month (attempting to spread out the purchases over a few months). Luckily my parents had a couple of bookshelves that they gave us so we don't have to buy those.

I'm jealous of all these super comfy gliders. We have a beautiful hand made wood rocker that I love, but it's not smooshy, and sometimes you just want some smoosh
